30 Days, 30 Authors- Té Russ

Hi everyone!! Té Russ is the next author to be featured in the 30 Days, 30 Authors event. One thing I love about Té’s stories is that you are able to go through the go along with each couple as they go through their journey to happiness. From beginning to end, it will have you go through so many emotions, which is a good thing in a romance story (you have to go through every emotion to find happiness, right?).

Anyway, enough with me rambling; I’ll let Té take over as she shares a preview to her upcoming release, Just One Touch, the sixth book in the McAllister Family series.

Here’s Té ! 🙂

author bio

Té Russ found solace in literary arts at an early age. Reading was a vehicle which broadened her horizons as writing became a form of self-expression. She began writing love stories as an adolescent to expel her youthful thoughts of love into words. Since then she has gone from writing stories and thoughts of love in journals to attending college for journalism and falling in love, which has allowed those youthful words of love to blossom into a series of stories in her romance novels. When she doesn’t have her nose pressed deeply into a book or her fingers flying across the keyboard, this Texas wife and mother of three can be found jumping out of airplanes, cheering her husband on at the top of her lungs at MMA fights, buzzing down the interstate on the back of motorcycles, or kayaking.

Just One Touch-20

Savannah McAllister is only focused on one thing: raising her son. When she decides to take him on a long overdue vacation, the last person she expects to run into is the only man she’s ever truly loved…who also happens to be her son’s father.

Ethan Porter gets the surprise of his life when he discovers he has a son. Now, he wants answers and he wants them from the one woman who was able to steal his heart with nothing more than her smile.

Both Savannah and Ethan are determined to make the best of their situation for the sake of their son, EJ. But in the process, they quickly discovered that all of those feelings they had years ago, have been lying dormant and the passion they shared is about to come back to life.

EXCERPT

Ethan was stretched out in his bed with his arms over his head as he stared at the ceiling. EJ had been thrilled when he found out they would be spending the night at Ethan’s place. After dinner, they played some of the old boards games, Ethan found in one of the closets.

Eventually EJ grew tired and Savannah sent him off to get ready for bed. Since the sleepover was a last minute idea, they hadn’t brought any extra clothes, so Ethan gave EJ one of his t-shirts to sleep in. The shirt swallowed EJ up, and Savannah thought he looked adorable.

After they’d tucked him in, Savannah and Ethan had stood outside the bedroom door quietly.

“I guess this is good night,” he said.

“Good night,” Savannah said, quietly. “And thanks for the shirt.” Ethan had given her a shirt to sleep in as well.

Now, he was lying in bed, imagining what Savannah looked like walking around in nothing but his t-shirt.

The sound of a light knock on his door had him sitting up slightly.

“Come in,” he said, wondering which of his house guests were at his door.

The door crept open and a long bare leg peeked through, causing Ethan to sit all the way up. He felt a twitch beneath his boxers as Savannah came fully into view. She quietly shut the door before looking at him.

His shirt engulfed her as well, but it stopped right her thighs.

“Savvy,” he finally said. “Is everything all right?”

She opened her mouth to say something then stopped, clamping it shut. Then she crossed the room. His pulse quickened as he watched her climb in the bed, straddle his lap and wrap her arms around his neck.

“Savvy–”

Whatever he’d been about to say got cut off when Savannah thrust her tongue into his mouth. He gripped her thighs before sliding his hands higher, underneath the shirt. He let out a groan when he discovered she was wearing nothing underneath. In a flash, he had her on her back and he shoved the shirt up so he could admire her entire body.

He knew he needed to slow down, but for the moment, he couldn’t stop himself. He reached down and circled one of her nipples with his finger, before he gave in to temptation and bent down to pull it into his mouth.

She arched against him, pushing her breast further into his mouth and he greedily tasted her. When he moved to the other one, she gripped his head and let out a moan.

He felt her hand inch closer to his erection and he finally found the strength to pull away.

“Why’d you stop?” Savannah asked.

He shook his head and raked his hands down his face. He felt like an idiot. An extremely horny idiot. “As difficult as this is for me to say…we can’t do this. Not yet.”

“But…I thought…” Savannah mumbled. She sat up quickly and pulled her shirt down, covering her body. “Never mind. I’m sorry.”

She went to scramble out of the bed, but Ethan stopped her. “Savvy, wait.” He blew out a frustrated breath. “Don’t misunderstand me. I want you. Desperately. But…Are you honestly comfortable with this happening for the first time with EJ right down the hall? What if he hears us? Or what if he gets up looking for you?”

He could tell by the look in her eye that she wasn’t comfortable with that thought.

“When I finally make you mine completely again, I want to make love to you all night, uninhibited and uninterrupted. I don’t want to have to explain why mommy was screaming all night,” he said with a grin.

Savannah’s lip twitched and she said, “You’re right, I know.” She covered her face with her palms. “I’m so embarrassed, sneaking in here and jumping you like a little tramp.”

“Hey!” he said, pulling her hands away from her face so he could look into her eyes. “You’re no such thing, you hear me? It’s my fault for giving you the impression that that’s what I meant when I invited you to spend the night.”

Savannah shook her head. “It was my own interpretation.”

“We will have our night together,” he said. “And I promise you it will be worth the wait.”

New Release- Just One Night by Té Russ

Hi everyone!! Congrats to Té Russ on her new release, Just One Night! This is the fifth book in the McAllister Family series! 🙂

Just One Night Cover Art

About the book:

Just one night. That’s all it was supposed to be for Anthony McAllister and Denise Monroe. But then one night turned into one weekend. And one weekend turned into one test that would change both of their lives forever.

Now all Denise wants is for things to go back to the way they used to be, but Anthony soon discovers that he wants more and he’ll do whatever it takes to convince her that just one night can lead to just one beautiful lifetime…together…

Excerpt:

They stayed until the place closed down for the night. Denise had no idea how many drinks they’d had, but she couldn’t remember the last time she’d enjoyed herself so much. She didn’t think she’d ever laughed so much. Her cheeks were actually sore.

It was well after two in the morning by the time they made it back to the hotel.

“I need to get to sleep,” she said, giggling on the elevator. “I have to be up in a few hours if I’m going to catch my flight on time.”

“You do,” Anthony said, smiling widely at her, showing off a perfect set of teeth.

She leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes, letting out a content breath. “I had so much fun with you tonight, Tony.”

“Me too, Dee. You’re great to hang out with.”

The elevator dinged and Denise looked up.

“This is my floor,” she said quietly.

He nodded. “I’ll walk you to your door.”

No one could say he wasn’t a gentleman, she thought to herself.

As the doors slid open, Anthony placed his palm on the small of her back and guided her out of the elevator.

They walked in silence down the hall to her suite. When they were in front of her door, she pulled out her keycard and turned to him smiling.

“Thanks again for tonight, Tony,” she said, “I enjoyed myself.”

“So did I,” he said, leaning against the wall next to her. “Maybe we could find some time to do it again back home.”

“Maybe,” she said, turning to unlock the door. “If you could squeeze me in between saving lives.”

“I’d certainly make time for you, Dee,” he said in a low voice, as he reached out and skimmed a finger down her bare back.

She let out a heated breath and turned back toward him.

“Well… I guess this is goodnight.”

She moved toward him and placed her hand on his chest, then lifted her head to kiss his cheek.

He shifted his face ever so slightly and the corners of their lips met.

The connection was minuscule, but the spark that came from it was monumental.

Denise took a step back in shock, bumping up against the door that was still cracked open.

Anthony looked down at her, his eyes darkening with desire.

The look she saw in his eyes mirrored the feelings stirring inside of her.

They moved toward each other, almost through no control of their own.

Their mouths collided in a fusion of passion so strong, the kiss alone nearly felt orgasmic.

Denise took a step back, pulling Anthony by the lapels of his tuxedo coat into her room.

“This is crazy,” she breathed.

“I know,” he said, agreeing with her.

“We should stop…”

“Probably,” he said, moving from her lips to kiss her right underneath her ear.

“But it feels so right….”

“Definitely,” he growled, kissing her neck.

Once they were completely in her room, he kicked the door closed with the heel of his foot.

He tore his mouth away from her body and stared into her eyes for a long time.

Finally he spoke.

“There’s one thing I’ve been curious about all night.”

She took a deep breath, but it wasn’t nearly enough to steady herself.

“What’s that?” she managed to ask.

She felt his fingers dig into her thigh with the garter she was still wearing and with a grin, that always seem to make her weak in the knees, he asked, “Exactly how many years of happy marriage did we get for the newlyweds?”

Release Day – A Spring Affair by Té Russ

Happy Release Day to Té Russ! Her new release,  A Spring Affair, is now available!!

By the way, I’m in love with this cover! Simply beautiful. 🙂

Though they’ve yet to meet face to face, Maya has had a secret crush on Xavier, the man who owns a wine café that the winery she works for distributes to. But being that Xavier is involved, she’d never reveal her feelings.

Xavier’s previous relationship has left him wrung out emotionally. Needing to get away for awhile, he decides to drive to Napa and visit the winery that produces one of the best selling wines at his café. And finally get the opportunity to meet the woman with the sweet little voice.

One email and four little words stands to flip their love lives on its head and when Maya and Xavier meet for the first time, both are blindsided by the attraction they feel for one another.

Springtime and wine make a beautiful backdrop for two people on a romantic journey to love…

Excerpt:

Maya stood there in the wine cave staring at Xavier.

“‘We’,” she said. “As in…you and me?”

She watched at the corner of his mouth quirked up slightly, before he released a deep chuckle.

“Yeah,” he said. “That’s the idea, unless there is some rule that says you can’t drink right now?”

“My boss doesn’t mind if we taste the wines along with our tourist, as long as we use the spittoon. But it is after hours and everyone has left for the day.”

“So what do you say?” he asked with a smile. “All these years we’ve talked on the phone and emailed each other, it would be nice to sit down and finally get to know more about you.”

She wanted to get to know him better as well.

Then why are you hesitating? her mind screamed.

She looked over her shoulder at the exit, then back at the table.

“I’m sorry,” he said when she still didn’t answer. He looked at his watch. “I suppose now I’m being presumptuous. Here I am asking you to sit down and share this wine and food with me and technically you’re suppose to be off the clock already. I didn’t think that maybe you already had plans with your husband.”

Maya grinned at Xavier’s inquisitive tone.

It was more than a little obvious that he was fishing for her relationship status. Grinning, she held up her hand to reveal her bare ring finger. “I’m not married.”

“Boyfriend?” he corrected.

She shook her head, and she felt her grin widen. “I’m single.”

“Then I’m not stealing you from anyone important.”

“It doesn’t appear that way.” Finally Maya smiled and said, “Sure I would love to sit with you.”

They moved over to the table and Xavier held a chair out for Maya. As he pushed her chair in after she sat, she felt his finger inadvertently brush against her shoulder. It amazed her that even the lightest touch from this man made her body come alive.

She expected him to go around and sit on the other side of the table, but was surprised when he pulled out the chair right next to hers and sat down.

“So, what do we have here?” Xavier asked, rubbing his hands together in anticipation.

Trying to ignore their knees touching under the table, Maya pointed to a white wine.

“This is a chardonnay, much like the one you tasted from the barrel. Of course this one is ready for consumption,” she said with a smile.

They both reached for the bottle at the same time and she stopped as Xavier’s large hand grabbed it first.

“Do you mind?” he asked.

“By all means.” She held up her glass so he could pour some, then he filled his own glass.

“I assume we’re pairing this with the brie cheese over there?” he guessed as he sat the bottle back down.

“You’re absolutely right. It’s actually from a local cheesemonger not too far from here.” She cut them both a small slice of cheese. “You know your pairings.”

“I would hope so, otherwise business would be terrible at my café.”

“What made you decide to open a wine café?” Maya asked. She had always been curious. “Why not just open a wine shop?”

“Because there is a wine shop every few blocks. Not to mention you can get wine from just about any store. With the wine café, people can also experience the joy of learning about wines as well as different foods that pair well with them.”

She loved his answer. And it was obvious that he was a true wine lover. As they went through their flight of wines, tasting several varieties, she watched as he described each one in great detail, as well as how each item of food was enhanced by the wines.

As they finished up their tasting, Xavier wiped his mouth and sat his napkin down on the plate in front of him.

“That was amazing. I can’t thank you enough again for doing all of this.”

“Even though it was meant for you and someone else?” she asked sheepishly.

Xavier turned and looked Maya directly in the eyes. “If it was meant for me to be here with someone else, I would have been here with someone else,” he said with a self-assured tone.

There was something in his voice and the look in his eyes that made Maya’s heart race.

She broke their eye contact and stood, gathering up the dishes. “I still feel terrible. Setting up this whole romantic scene must have brought up some strange feelings considering–”

“Maya.” Xavier stood, gently grabbing her arm, to stop her from her task of cleaning. “The only thing I’ve felt tonight is joy at spending time with you. In fact…” he removed his hand from her arm and hooked his thumbs into the loops of his jeans. “…I was wondering since the winery is closed tomorrow, do you have any plans tomorrow?”

“Uh, no. I don’t have any plans tomorrow. You’re not going to visit anymore wineries?”

“I visited all of the ones on my list yesterday and today. This was the final stop for me. I wanted to save the best for last,” he said, and she felt like he was referring to more than just the winery.

“I know this may seem fast, and forward. And I’m kind of out of practice with all of this, but…I’ve enjoyed our time together today and I want to see you again. So I was wondering if you would have lunch with me tomorrow, before I have to head back to Sacramento.”

Oh. My. God.

After years of fantasizing about this man she’d never before met, he was better than anything she could have imagined. And for all of those years, there was a road block in her dreams by the name of Darby. Now Darby was out of the picture and Xavier was showing interest in her. It was the stuff romance novels were made of.

She remembered what her sister had said about jumping at the opportunity if it presented itself with Xavier. Well…she’d been a little more cruder, but still…her overall advice was on point. And Maya wasn’t going to let a chance she’d secretly been wishing for, for several years now, pass her by.

“Lunch with you tomorrow would be great.”

Writing Process Global Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Two weeks ago, Lynn Lovegreen hosted me on her blog for the Writing Process Global Blog Hop. Today, I will be giving my take on what inspired me to write as well as host three authors. 🙂

What am I working on?

Currently, I’m getting ready to write the third book in the Something Just Ain’t Right series. I’m also working on re-releasing one of my previous stories, Our Love, as well as gearing up for a new series that is a spin-off from the Love, Life, & Happiness series.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?

My work is different from others of its genre because it provide diversity with the main characters.  I love New Adult fiction, so when I began writing, I wanted to focus on characters that were not only strong minded, but also diverse.  That was the concept I had in mind when I wrote the Love, Life, & Happiness series. Although there are starting to be more NA books that feature African-Americans characters, it’s very rare that you would encounter a book, let alone a series, in this genre that have predominately African-American characters.

Why do I write/create what I do?

I love to write in certain genres, especially romance and women’s fiction. I also like to step outside of the box, and that was what I did with my current series, Something Just Ain’t Right. I never thought about doing romantic suspense, but I didn’t want readers to see me only as a romance author. I want to be known for other areas of writing as well. That’s what make being a writer so great, because for me, I have the ability to explore many areas and to develop various characters.

How does my writing/creating process work?

Since I have an 8-year-old son, I usually do all of my writing late at night, when it’s just me and my computer. Music is very important with my writing process because it help create various scenes for my stories. I also create playlists for my stories, which describe my thoughts through a particular scene. There may be times when I would have to revise a scene or two and even go through several rounds of editing, but it’s all worth it once I receive the final result.

Please allow me to introduce you all to three new authors that will be continuing the blog hop. These authors are very talented and have wonderful stories available. Please check out their blogs or pages to learn more about them and their work. 🙂

“A diva is someone who is a perfectionist who does her best in her craft.”-Pattie LaBelle

Those are the words of the legendary Miss. Pattie LaBelle. She sees herself as a Diva in the music world; just like I see myself, Miss. Alithea Elizabeth, as an upcoming Diva in the literary world.

I was born and still do live in the beautiful island of The Bahamas, where I’m currently a student at The College of the Bahamas studying Secondary Education, specializing in History and Geography. I’m actively involved in my community as an Advisor with the Junior Achievement Bahamas. I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.

I was in love with writing from an early age, writing all over my mother’s walls.  However, after being put in timeout a few times, my mother gave me a notebook and a pen. From that time, I have always been putting my pen to paper, writing short story about my family and friends or even about my family vacation. It wasn’t until 2012 when I decided to write my debut novel, Love On The Track.  After a few setbacks I got discouraged, but thanks to  supportive family and friends, I’m currently working on publishing my first book in the near future.

Writing is my passion…..

Her Global Blog Hop will be in May.

Release Day Blitz- Love After War by Té Russ

Hi everyone!!! Happy release day to Té Russ, whose new book, Love After War, is now available!! This is the fourth book in The McAllister Family series!

image1

About the book:

Connie and Drew have been butting heads since they were teenagers. With Connie refusing to talk about anything from their past, Drew has never figured out what made them go from friends to enemies.

Drew decides to finally get to the root of their lifelong feud when Connie ends up in Texas for a remodeling project. When the truth comes out, it just might bring out some feelings both of them have been refusing to acknowledge for over a decade.

Excerpt:

“What are we doing here Andrew?” Connie asked, annoyed.

“This is where we’re having lunch,” he replied simply. “You still eat pizza don’t you?”

They were standing in the waiting area of Uno Chicago Grill, simply known as Uno’s in the area.

It looked a lot like a pizzeria they used to go to as kids in the summer in Galveston. She wondered if he’d brought her here on purpose.

“Yes, I still eat pizza but–”

“Great, here comes the hostess to sit us.”

The lady barely looked at Connie; she was so busy eyeballing Drew. And flirting just a tad too much.

“Can I get you anything to drink honey?” she cooed, while brushing her hand up and down his shoulder.

“Constance?”

“What?” she asked, tearing her glare away from the woman.

He tried to hide the smirk on his face. “What would you like to drink?”

“Iced tea. Sweet.”

“I’ll have the same thing,” he said, never taking his eyes off of Connie. “Ice tea. Sweet.”

“I’m sure it’s not as sweet as you.”

“I’m hardly sweet,” he replied, causing the hostess to laugh a little too hysterically and all but throw herself into Drew’s lap.

After she was done fawning over him, she sauntered off, with an exaggerated sway of her hips.

Connie couldn’t wipe the scowl off of her face and Drew was about to say something when Miss Laughs-a-lot returned.

“Joss will be your waitress today, but if you need anything, don’t hesitate to call.”

Connie watched as the woman slipped a piece of paper down in front of him. She rolled her eyes as the woman walked away.

“Unbelievable,” Connie murmured.

“What is?”

“That… woman. She was throwing herself all over you Andrew.”

He shrugged. “I suppose she was a little flirty.”

Connie laughed. “A little flirty? Andrew please! She was two seconds away from giving you a lap dance right in front of me. And she didn’t acknowledge me once. It was as if I wasn’t even here. For all she knew I could have been your date or girlfriend, but she didn’t care.”

“But you do?” Drew asked, with a raised eyebrow.

“Excuse me?”

“Well, you’re not my girlfriend. And technically this isn’t a date, just lunch. So why do you care if some hostess flirts with me?”

“You are completely incorrigible! It’s simply rude of her to flirt with a man in front of lady company. And it’s just bad customer service to ignore patrons. Besides that, I dont care who flirts with you or whom you flirt with.”

“Ah but that’s the thing! I didn’t flirt with her. In fact, if I recall, I never took my eyes off of you.”

Connie opened her mouth to argue, but she couldn’t because he was right. Drew seemed to have barely to noticed the hostess.

“Well–”

“If I didn’t know any better, Barb, I’d say you were jealous.”

He watched as the color rose up her neck and filled her cheeks. “Andrew McAllister, I am not jealous of some floozy hitting on you!”

He chuckled, and then said, “‘The lady doth protest too much, methinks!’”

She scoffed. “Quoting Hamlet does not make you cute.”

“So what does make me cute?” he asked, his voice filled with a hint of intrigue.

Connie threw a napkin at him and he laughed out loud.

Joss, the waitress, showed up then and took their food orders. She was clearly a young girl, probably a college student and was completely enamored with Drew as well. Thankfully, she wasn’t shameless like the hostess. The poor girl could barely speak. She kept looking at Connie and stealing glances toward Drew, as if he were the sun and just too bright to look at directly.

Drew ordered for them remembering exactly how Connie liked her pizza.

Another thing from their past, she’d thought. But she let it slide this time, because the poor girl nearly knocked over their glasses of iced tea.

“I’m so sorry,” she apologized to them both.

“It’s all right,” he said to her.

Connie nodded. “Don’t worry honey, no harm done.”

The girl scuffled off to put in their orders and Connie couldn’t help but laugh.

“The great Andrew McAllister, turning women all over the place into crazed fools.”

“Except you,” he said sarcastically.

If only you knew, she thought.

“I’m not the only one causing trouble in here,” he said, interrupting her thoughts.

“What in the world are you talking about?”

“The man sitting at the table behind you, at your five o’clock…”

Connie used the excuse of tucking her hair behind her ear to glance over her shoulder and caught a man averting his eyes from their direction.

“He’s been staring at your legs, since you walked past him.”

“What? That’s ridicu–”

“The man at the table behind me, at your two o’clock.. .”

He waited for her to glance over his shoulder and then look back at him.

“Well,” he said, slightly annoyed, “Let’s just say he’s been looking a little bit North of your legs, South of your neck.”

She gasped at what he was implying.

“How could you know that?” she asked in a whisper, leaning closer toward him.

“Part of my job is to make sure I know everything going on in my surroundings.”

“Well, I guess you do your job pretty well.”

He shrugged. “I’m still alive.”

There was something in the tone of his voice when he said those words. If she didn’t know any better, she would have thought it sounded like remorse.
