A few hours later: and the night sky was fully set in the air and the evening was beginning. Sophia was in her room getting ready for the club when her phone started ringing. She picked it up without even seeing who was calling.
“Hello.”
“Hi, Sophia.”
“Cassandra. Why are you calling?”
“I’m sorry to bother you, but we need to talk.”
“About what? There’s nothing to talk about.”
“There’s something you need to know about Natalie and Patrick.”
“What? They’re together now?”
“Nothing like that. It’s about you and Patrick breaking up. I found out something today.”
While Cassandra told Sophia the story, Sophia slowly sat down on her bed, taking in the news with shock.
“Sophia, are you still there?”
“Yeah; yeah, I’m here.”
“I’m sorry. If I would had known sooner, I would have told you, but I just found out.”
“It’s not your fault, Cassandra. Thanks for telling me.”
“That’s what friends do. We’re still friends, right?”
Sophia smiled. “Always.”
“In case you wanted to know, Natalie and I are going to Liquid tonight. You could talk to her if you want.”
“No bother, Cassandra. I know what I have to do.”
“What’s that?”
“If I’m lucky, Patrick might make an appearance tonight at the club. Everything else will fall into place.”
“I hope everything work out between you two You’re good together.”
Sophia smiled. “I know, Cassandra. I hope things work out too.”

Patrick looked at himself in the mirror and smiled.
Tonight’s the night things will go my way.
He knew Sophia and Layla will be at Liquid tonight.
Who wouldn’t be there tonight?
If things go right, him and Sophia will be back together by tonight. He went to his dresser and pulled out the ring box he was looking at earlier.
Tonight, we will be engaged.
