Here’s chapter 4. 🙂
After browsing in Macy’s for an hour, Sophia and Layla decided to take a break near the food court.
Layla sat down at a bench near the carousel and looked around. “I’m tired.”
“From what? We haven’t done anything.” Sophia said as she sat beside Layla.
“Exactly! Let’s do something tonight. In fact, let’s hit up a club. We haven’t done that in awhile.”
“Yeah, since last summer.” Sophia jokingly replied.
“It’ll be fun. We can dress up, meet some fine guys, and dance the night away.”
“I don’t feel like it.”
“Come on! This is the first day of summer so everyone and their mama will be out tonight.”
Sophia sighed. “Fine.”
“Great. Now, we need to find an outfit for tonight.” Layla said while getting up. She gently pulled Sophia up and she sighed.
“It better be fun tonight.” She said while walking with Layla.
“Trust me, it will be. Would I ever lie to you?”
“Yes, you would.”
Layla laughed. “Trust me on this one.”
As they were walking, Sophia looked around the food court when she suddenly stopped walking. Natalie and Cassandra were walking out of Express. Layla looked from Sophia to the direction of Natalie and Cassandra and rolled her eyes.
“What are you doing?” Layla asked. “Why would you even talk to them after what they did to you?”
“I know what I’m doing, Layla.”
She went over to them who were going near the directory. “Well, well, well, what are you two up to? Trying to steal another man that doesn’t belong to you?”
Natalie rolled her eyes. “What do you want, Sophia?”
“I don’t know why you’re upset with me? I should be the one pissed after you practically threw yourself at Patrick. For someone who wanted to see him so happy, the minute he was you tried to end it.”
“Listen, I’d made a mistake putting you two together; but I didn’t have to do anything to break you two up. You did it all by yourself.”
Cassandra gave an evil smirk at Sophia. “Yeah, Sophia; but you could never keep a man, could you?”
“You bitch!” Sophia exclaimed. She tried to go after Cassandra, but Layla grabbed her.
“Girl, stop! She’s not worth going to jail over! Neither one of these stanks are. They’re both trash.”
“I know you’re not talking, heifer.” Natalie barked.
“Let’s go. We have better things to do with our time then be around these losers.” Layla said.
The two turned around and when Natalie started to yell. “Cassandra’s right! You’ll never keep a man! Damn virgin!”
Sophia turned around and gave Natalie the finger. Natalie returned the gesture before grabbing Cassandra and headed to the stores.
Sophia shook her head. “Gosh, that girl is stupid. I don’t even know how I could be friends with either one of them.”
Layla scoffed. “I’ve been trying to figure that out for the longest. At least you’ve wised up about them.”
Sophia smiled. “I am too. Let’s go find something to wear for tonight.”
“Now we’re talking.” Layla said as she followed Sophia into a shoe store.
February 4, 2012
Sophia was heading to her car when she saw Cassandra coming to her.
“Hey, Cassandra. What’s up?”
“Can I get a ride home? My car is in the shop.”
“Sure. Get in.”
The two hopped in and Sophia put the key into the ignition. “So, how’s things going between you and Terrance?”
Cassandra sat up in the seat and looked out the window. “Things are going great. We had a date last night, which was fun. We went to the movies, talked a little bit, then ended the night with some hot sex. After that, he took me home.”
“What a night.” Sophia said dryly.
“What does that supposed to mean?”
“Does every conversation you or Natalie have with me has to be about sex? There are other things to talk about than sex.”
Cassandra gave Sophia a confused look. “All I said was that I had sex. It’s not like I went into details about the encounter. What’s your problem lately, Sophia? It’s bad enough that we barely see you and when we do you have an attitude. What’s going on?”
“Nothing is going on. I just would like to have a conversation without talking about how big or small a guy’s dick is or how good he is in bed. I’m sorry, but maybe the reason why I haven’t been hanging out with you or Natalie is because one, I have a man, and two, because the both of you are selfish and immature.”
“Oh really. You know what, you are the one who’s immature. If you really think that you and Patrick are going to have this wonderful relationship, then I suggest you think twice because he’s not going to stay with you long if you’re not giving him any. Maybe he’s cool with it now, but do you really think he’s going to go months or even years without having sex? If you think that, then you’re completely clueless.”
“Sorry to disappoint you, Cassandra, but Patrick and I love each other. We’re very committed to each other and we’re not even having sex. Patrick knows that I want to wait and he doesn’t have a problem with it. If he doesn’t, then why should you? Now, I suggest you and Natalie both stay out of my damn business and leave me the hell alone. Got it.”
Cassandra smirked. “Fine, Sophia.”
Sophia rolled her eyes and drove up to Cassandra’s driveway. She gave her an intense stare.
“Your ride’s over. Get out.”
Cassandra grabbed her backpack and purse and grabbed on the door handle. She got out and slammed the door. Sophia rolled down her window and yelled at her.
“And don’t slam my damn door!”
She reversed out of the driveway and sped off.
“Bitch.” Cassandra said and went inside.
“Heifer.” Sophia said while speeding down the street…
“What are you thinking about?” Layla asked
Sophia glanced at Layla and smiled. “Nothing important.”
The two walked pass Victoria’s Secret when Sophia suddenly stopped, almost causing Layla to bump into her. She stared at the outfit in the display window, which was a beautiful pink lace embroidered baby doll with a matching pink thong.
That’s the outfit I wore the night Patrick and I made love.
Layla came up to her. She glanced at the outfit before staring at her. “Are you okay? You look as if you’re going to pass out. Please don’t.”
“I’m not. I’m just thinking about something.”
“I’m sure it’s about Patrick. Spill it.”
Sophia turned to Layla and gave a shy smile. “There’s something I haven’t told you.”
“What is it?”
“When Natalie mentioned about me being a virgin, let’s just say she doesn’t know anything about me now.”
Layla gave a surprised look. “You had sex with Patrick?”
Sophia nodded. “On our anniversary.”
“Girl, why didn’t you tell me? I’m your cousin!”
“I wanted to, but I felt it was something I wanted to keep to myself.”
“I told you when I lost my virginity.”
“Sorry, Layla, but I wanted to keep it private.”
“I understand. So, how was it?”
Sophia smiled. “It was amazing. That was one night that I would never forget….”
August 29, 2012
Sophia looked at her closet and sighed. “I really don’t know what to wear,” she whispered.
“Layla, what would you wear on your one-year anniversary to Carl?!” she yelled to Layla in her room.
She walked into Sophia’s room and smiled. “Nothing.”
“Seriously, Layla! This is an important day and I want to look really nice.”
“Okay, for starters, Patrick would think you’re beautiful if you were wearing a brown paper bag. Whatever you choose, he would love it. Where are you two going anyway?”
“I don’t know. Patrick said it was a surprise.”
“Well, pick something nice but sexy. Something that’s simple, but also says wow.”
Sophia pulled out a black strapless dress from the back of her closet. “Like this?”
“Exactly.”
The doorbell rang and Layla went to the door. Patrick was standing outside with a dozen of pink roses in his hands.
Layla opened the door and smiled. “Hey, Patrick. Aren’t you looking nice tonight. Where are you taking Sophia dressed in a suit?”
Patrick walked into the apartment and smiled. “Somewhere special. I would tell you, but I know you, Layla. You would definitely tell Sophia.”
“No, I wouldn’t. Why would I tell her?”
“Because you will. Is Sophia ready?”
“Yes, I am.” Sophia said while walking into the living room.
Patrick looked at Sophia with a wide grin. “Wow, Sophia. You look amazing.”
“Thank you. Are those for me?”
“There’re not for me.” Layla jokingly replied.
“Happy anniversary, baby.” Patrick said. He went up to Sophia and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“Happy anniversary, Patrick. Now, I’m glad I chose this dress. You look really nice. So, where are you taking me, Mr. Baker?”
“You’ll see. We better go, though; I made reservations so we better not be late.”
Layla smiled. “It must be big if you made reservations. You two have fun.”
“We will.” Sophia said. She went up to Layla and whispered in her ear. “Don’t wait up.”
“I wasn’t going to.” She replied and smiled.
The two went out the door and to Patrick’s car. He looked at Sophia and took her hand.
“Baby, tonight is definitely a night that we won’t forget.”
Sophia smiled. “I know, sweetie.”
“Are you sure about this?”
“I’ve never been so sure about anything in my life. Patrick, I love you and I want to share my first time with you. I always told myself that I would give myself to the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. Sweetie, I choose you.”
Patrick looked at Sophia and kissed her on the cheek. “Let’s go then.”
He started up his car and back out of the parking spot.
After the two shared a special dinner, the two walked out of the restaurant hand in hand. When they reached Patrick’s car, he opened the passenger’s door for Sophia to get in. As soon as he got in, he started up the car and looked at her.
“You’re having a good time so far?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Good, because of course the night is not over. But before I drive out, I have to do this.”
He pulled out a black blindfold from the glove compartment and smiled. Sophia looked at him and smiled.
“The next destination is another surprise?”
“Yes, it is.”
“How exciting.”
Patrick put the blindfold over Sophia’s eyes and kissed her softly on the lips. “Believe me, baby, this is worth the suspense; so, sit back and enjoy the ride.”
Sophia did just that as Patrick put the car in reverse and left the restaurant parking lot.
Thirty minutes later, and Patrick drove up to their destination. He put the car in park and turned off the engine. He opened the door and quickly went over to the passenger side to look at Sophia.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Okay.”
“Where am I?” Sophia whispered. As she was about to pull off the blindfold, Patrick ran back to the car and smiled.
“I see you trying to peek. Come on.” He said. He opened the door and slowly got Sophia out of the car. The two walked into the building and strolled through the lobby area. They went to the elevator and Patrick pressed the up button.
“Where are we? Are we at a hotel?”
Patrick smiled. “You’re asking too many questions.”
“Because I want to know.”
“Which you will in due time.”
The elevator door opened and they walked in. As soon as the door closed, Patrick pressed the fourth floor button and waited patiently until the door opened again. As soon as it did, he gently ushered Sophia to the third door on the floor. He grabbed the key card and swiped it through the card holder. Once he opened the door, he guided Sophia to the center of the room and stopped.
“I want you to stand right here.” He instructed.
“What’s going on, Patrick?”
“You’ll see.”
He carefully took the blindfold from Sophia and slowly smiled at the surprised look she had.
The room was decorated with red and white rose petals throughout the floor and on the bed. A bottle of champagne was chilled by one side of the bed while a bowl of strawberries was placed on the end table on the other side. Not only was the room marvelously set-up, but the window overlooking the city was even more breathtaking.
“Patrick, I can’t believe you did all of this.”
“You deserve this, Sophia. Not only will this be our first time, but this will be yours, so I want it to be perfect.”
A tear rolled down Sophia’s cheek as she walked over to the window.
“Are you okay? I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
“I’m fine. This is how I imagined my first time to be. I just didn’t think it would happen, though.”
Patrick went over to Sophia and held her. “You are the most important person in my life. Nothing is more important than seeing you happy. I love you, baby.”
“I love you too.” Sophia whispered.
The two kissed as Patrick pulled away. “The surprises are not over. I have one more.”
“Patrick…”
He put a finger to Sophia’s lips. “Wait right here, okay.”
“Okay.” Sophia whispered.
Patrick walked over to a small closet near the bathroom. He came back with a medium sized box.
“I hope you like it. When I saw it, I knew it would look amazing on you.”
Sophia slowly took the box from Patrick and opened it. Her eyes went wide as she pulled out a gorgeous pink baby doll covered with lace.
“This is gorgeous, Patrick.”
“I hope it’s the right size. I described to the saleswoman your size, so she picked it out.”
“It’s great, baby. It’ll look perfect on me.”
“You could model it for me, if you want.”
Sophia smiled and gave Patrick a kiss before going to the bathroom. She stopped at the door to stare at him.
“Don’t go anywhere.” She said seductively.
“I won’t. I promise.”
Sophia smiled again and closed the door.
Five minutes later, and Patrick was waiting impatiently for Sophia to come out. He was wondering if something was wrong as he looked at his watch.
While Patrick was in the room, Sophia was in the bathroom wondering if she was making the right decision. She glanced at herself in the mirror, taking in the outfit as she touched up her hair.
Patrick walked to the bathroom door and started to speak. “Baby, are you okay? You’ve been in there for awhile now.”
Sophia moved towards the door and sighed. “I’ll be out in a minute. I’m trying to look good for you.”
Patrick smiled. “That’s not too hard to do. You’re already beautiful.”
Sophia opened the door and smiled.
Patrick looked at Sophia speechless. He went up to her and put his hand on her cheek.
Sophia looked worried as Patrick continued to stare at her.
“Baby, say something. You’re making me nervous.”
Patrick pulled her to her and gave her a passionate kiss. Sophia softly moan as her hand went behind the back of his neck. Patrick held her tighter as his manhood began to rise. He was trying to stay calm, but seeing how beautiful Sophia looked, he didn’t know if he could control his emotions any longer.
Sophia pulled away from Patrick as she took his hand. She guided him towards the bed and sat down.
“Sophia, you look amazing. Words can’t even describe what I’m thinking right now.”
Sophia smiled. “I guess that means you like the outfit.”
“Like isn’t even the word. I knew you would look good in it the minute I saw it in the window.”
Sophia smiled again and started to play with the hem of the dress. Suddenly she was even more nervous than before.
“What’s wrong? You’re not having second thoughts, are you?”
Sophia shook her head. “I guess I’m a little nervous. If we do go through with it, I don’t know what to expect. Really, I don’t know if we’re go through it at all. I just don’t want anything unexpected to happen.”
Patrick took Sophia’s hand into his and smiled. “Nothing could spoil this moment between us. Just us being together is perfect, no matter where we are or what we’re doing. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, so I’m glad that you’re in my life.”
“I’m glad that you’re in my life, too,” Sophia said. A tear rolled down her cheek as she spoke again. “I love you so much, and now I want to show you how much. Make love to me, Patrick.”
“Are you sure, baby? I’m not going to force you into something you’re not sure of.”
“I’m very sure. I’ve never been more sure about anything in my life.”
Patrick ran his fingers through her hair as Sophia put her hand on his chest. He started to kiss her cheek, then her lips. He smiled before kissing her neck. Sophia breathed heavily as a moan escaped her lips. She moved her lips to Patrick’s ear, lightly kissing his earlobe. Patrick moaned as Sophia took off his shirt. She stared at his chest, amazed at his body when Patrick slowly laid Sophia down on the bed. He gently removed Sophia’s dress as her hands went to his pants. Patrick looked into Sophia’s eyes, seeing the love that she had for him.
“I love you.” He whispered.
I love you too, Patrick…
Sophia glanced at Layla and smiled. “It was wonderful.”
“How did it feel?” Layla asked.
“It was okay. It was my first time, so of course it would feel awkward; but afterwards, it was great.”
“This should be a good sign that you two are meant to be. I know you would not had gave it up to Patrick if you knew he wasn’t the one. Now that I know this, you two really need to talk.”
Sophia sighed as a tear fell down her cheek. “You don’t think I know that? Since the day we broke up, I’ve been miserable. I love Patrick so much, so I never thought the two of us would end thing so soon. I wish things were different between us now.”
“I wish that too.”
Sophia and Layla turned around and saw Patrick standing behind them. Sophia looked at Patrick, not knowing what to say or do as Patrick gave her a depressed look.
Maybe it’s time for us to talk….
