Hi everyone!! I’m a little late posting, but here is chapter three to the short story, Love. Enjoy! 🙂
Sophia and Layla entered into Macy’s inside The Galleria and began looking around. Layla turned to Sophia and started to talk.
“Let me ask you something. If you love Patrick like you say you do, why don’t you try to work things out with him? I know Patrick said it was because of James, but Natalie also had a factor in things. She basically tried to break you two up as well.”
“Well, she got her wish. She can have him if she wants.”
“You don’t mean that. Patrick’s your first love. You two are meant for each other. Besides, Natalie is and will always be a skank. I knew that girl was trouble from the beginning. If you want you and Patrick to work things out, I suggest you call him and talk things out.”
Sophia sighed. “I would, but I’m not. I haven’t done anything wrong for us to break up. Patrick should know that I wouldn’t cheat on him, especially not with James.”
“Are you telling me that when James came back into the picture, you wouldn’t drop Patrick go back to him?”
“No, because Patrick is my first love.”
“Should it matter who was right or wrong with the argument? If you two love each other, it shouldn’t matter who was wrong.”
Sophia looked at Layla and smiled. “You’re right, but I’m not calling him.”
“Fine, I just don’t want you moping the entire day. Why don’t you put your mind off of Patrick and shop? I see a shirt with your name on it.”
Sophia shrugged. “Fine, let’s go.”
The two went towards the junior’s department to browse.
September 6, 2011
Sophia walked into the student union and noticed Patrick sitting outside on the patio. She strolled over to him and touched his shoulders. He looked up, giving a dazzling smile.
“Hey. I was wondering when I would see you again.”
“Sorry about that. I got your messages. Sorry I didn’t return them.”
“It’s okay. Why didn’t you though?”
Sophia sat down next to Patrick and gave a sincere glance. “Honestly, I was scared. I made a complete ass out of myself on our first date. I got drunk and puked on you. I was surprised you even called me.”
“I wanted to check on you to see if you were okay. Just because that happened on our first date doesn’t mean I’m not going to stop talking to you. Sophia, you are a great girl and what happened Friday is not going to change how I feel about you.”
“So you’re not mad?”
“Why would I be? In fact, that was another reason why I was calling. I was hoping we could go out again this weekend.”
Sophia laughed. “Patrick Baker, either you must really like me or you’re just weird.”
Patrick held Sophia’s hand and kissed it.
“I guess what you say is true. You want to go out again Miss Davis?”
“I would like that.”
The two looked at each other and smiled…
Sophia stared at the shirt Layla held up.
“You like it?”
“Yeah, I do.”
