Hi everyone!! Wow, I can’t believe it has been ten years since I became a published author and released my very first book, In Love With My Best Friend. When that book was released, I figured I fulfilled my dream of publishing one book; but once I completed In Love With My Best Friend, I believed my literary journey wasn’t over. Instead, it was just the beginning.
With over 50 books under my belt, I can say that it has been a roller coaster ride; I have tackled everything from romance to urban, from being indie to being with a publisher. I became a best-selling author within the first few months of being a published author, landing #1 stories in various genres with books since as A Chance at Love, Love Unbroken, and Trust Me. I received backlash from changing my writing style when I started writing urban and was criticized for stories that I poured my heart and soul in. During those times, I wanted to give up writing, but I‘m glad I didn’t.
I have been through a lot in my ten-year span in the literary world; some I have learned hard lessons on and possibly burned some bridges with, but at the end of the day, the things I have dealt with were learning lessons. Do I regret those? Possibly. Do I wish I could change what may have happened in the past? Of course, but those incidents also helped me learn from my mistakes so I could move forwar to be the best writer I know I can be. Although I have accomplished a lot during my ten years, I know there is a lot that I still want to achieve. I still want to live my dream of becom York Times best-seller; I want to be recognized by my peers and even have one of my books turned into a movie. The sky’s the limit for me, and I know those dreams will come to pass if I continue to work hard and never give up. It’ll be a process, but I know I will get there soon.
For everyone who has been with me from day one, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You all took a chance on me, and I’m glad you all stuck by me. From my new readers, I hope you continue to stick with me because I have many more stories to tell, especially in the next few months.
