author interview
  1. Besides writing, what else do you like to do?

I love reading and fishing

      2.   What inspired you to become an author?

It didn’t happen like your usual writer. My son passed away from leukemia @ the age of 12. The day of the funeral, the nurse that took care of him, walked up to me and said I should turn my journal I kept while my son was fighting for his life into a book. The rest is history.

3. What was your first reaction when your debut novel was published?

Like I just gave birth, to a book. lol

4. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

At least 2 of my books will be turned into a movie or stage play. My publishing company will be successful. I will have several of books on the New York Times Bestseller list or one of my author’s book.

5. What advice can you give to anyone who wants to become an author?

Don’t give up and run far away from negative people.

EXCERPT

From Living In The PJs

The one thing that stands out to me, was the love we received from not only our family, but others parents raising kids in the projects. The saying, It takes a village to raise a child” was true for us. Parents took responsibility for all of the kids not just their own. I can seriously look back and say that we were one big happy family even if we didn’t know it at the time. Don’t get me wrong, we did fight and have problems with each other, but it was all out of love. Let’s go back some more. I remember watching TV with no antenna. We had to use a wire hanger to control the picture. Don’t forget about the aluminum foil we had to put on the tip of the hanger to get a better reception. Don’t act like it was just my family with the bootleg TV. Another thing we all had were the floor model TV with a smaller television on top. This was because the floor model didn’t work so we used it as a TV stand for the smaller TV.
