Suprise!!!

Hi everyone! I’ve been very quiet the last few days, mainly because I’ve been busy with work, my classes, and with releasing a new book!

I decided to write a book through Kindle Vella, which the first three episodes are now available to read, with a different episode released every week.

You can read the first three episodes for free by clicking on the link below.

https://amzn.to/3YluVI4

Here’s the extended blurb for the story:

The Baptiste sisters, Chante, Darla, and Whitney, all have their own lives to live, but there’s one secret that the three has been keeping from everyone since the night their father disappeared. Can the three be able to keep their secret hidden, or will they be exposed for the crime that they committed?

Chante
the oldest of the Baptiste sisters. She was considered the mother figure and always protected Darla and Whitney since their mother passed away 10 years ago. While she has a family of her own, she always bailing out her sisters, which is putting a strain in her marriage to DeMarcus. But what could potentially tear her marriage apart is the secret she’s been haboring from DeMarcus. She figures it’s time to tell him, but she knows it’ll cause a rift with her sisters. Will she be able to keep her marriage together while protecting her sisters in the process?

Darla
Darla is the middle sister, but has always been the rebellious one. She doesn’t listen to anyone, which always put her in crazy situations. Just when her sisters think she has things under control and is living a normal life, she surprises them by doing something stupid. She also changes the men in her life, which has been frowned upon on her sisters, especially Chante. When she gets into a freak accident with a handsome stranger, she sees him as a potential new man in her life, but he could be more than what she bargained for. Will this be another incident that her sisters will have to bailed her out of, or will she be able to handle what’s in store for her?

Whitney
Whitney is the youngest sister and always had a good head on her shoulders. She made a promise to her mom that she will achieve the goals set out for her, so she intents to make do of it by becoming Marcy’s newest mayor. She’s also planning her wedding to her college sweetheart, Garrett. But someone in her camp could also be her worst enemy, who will do anything to see her, along with her sisters, falter. Could Whitney not only be able to save her reputation, as well as her sisters, or will their secret be the talk of the town?

Chante, Darla, and Whitney have a lot going for them, but it could all be taken away from them at a drop of a dime. When old wounds began to reopen, the Baptiste sisters will need each other to get through the issues they will face, not only in their personal lives, but also with each other.

EXCERPT

The negative body image and height insecurities were planted in my adolescent years. I was always teased because of my weight and height. It began in my Junior High years and continued into my adulthood. I was tall and really skinny until my sophomore year in High School (I will explain this transformation in a later chapter). I was also somewhat shy. The kids would call me all kinds of names such as bean pole, skinny Minnie, skyscraper, etc. But to come home and have my dad comment on my weight would send me over the edge.

However, my intent in giving my number to him, I believe, was so I could hear him validate me some more. This was where the insecurities that are never addressed will get you trapped in some mess. Needless to say, I don’t believe he intended to ever give me rides to school, but instead give me rides emotionally and physically after school, if you know what I mean.

Crazy how the enemy can have your moral compass all screwed up. Although I ended things,

he wanted to keep them going. The only righteous thing to do was to walk away, and I did just that. In my warped sense of accomplishment, I was sure God was pleased by my walking away and I didn’t think about how I disappointed God yet again by committing adultery.

Genre: Contemporary Holiday Romance

At least, until she meets a friendly man who hails from her hometown while working a routine flight. When she learns he needs a place to stay, she offers the apartment over her garage out of the kindness of her heart – and her desperate need for extra cash.

Even as Brad endears himself to Shelly by saving the town’s Christmas pageant, she attempts to keep her distance to protect the fragile stability she’s built since her divorce. But Brad’s willingness to walk the fine line between what Shelly’s heart wants and what her head allows slowly wears down her resolve. Debut author, Katie Eagan Schenck, writes sweet romance that warms the heart and gives all the feels. When she’s not writing fiction, she’s either working on regulations for the federal government or binging Hallmark movies. She lives in Maryland with her husband, daughter, and their three cats.

What inspired you to write this book?

When I was around 8 years of age, I realized I wanted to write books when I grew up. My mother was my biggest fan, and she encouraged me to pursue my dreams with one caveat: she made me promise that I write and dedicate one “kissing book” to her. Kissing books is what I called romance novels, but my mother preferred the steamier, so-called “bodice ripper” variety. I made the promise, but as I hit puberty, the idea of writing my mother a steamy romance novel didn’t sit right with me. And then, in 2002, she passed away after a brief battle with colon cancer.

Between my aversion to writing a steamy book for my mom and the grief over her loss, I moved away from writing to pursue other interests. But it was always in the back of my mind. In fact, I struggled to write creatively because I felt I needed to fulfill the promise first before I could move forward with writing anything else.

One afternoon, following a particularly grueling day of grad school, I came across Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas. I quickly became hooked. The movies were simple to follow, which was what my tired brain needed after writing academic papers and working full time as a paralegal. It dawned on me as I watched another sweet romance end in a kiss that I didn’t need to write a steamy book to keep my promise. It just had to be a romance novel.

Now, my husband likes to tease me about my love of Hallmark movies. He referrs to them as modern day mad-libs because the careers of the characters and the situations they find themselves in are sometimes a bit random. So, in that spirit, I used Reedsy’s plot generator and got a Marine and a flight attendant as the main characters. The Christmas setting was already in my head after binging so many holiday movies, and the rest just stemmed from there. I’ve since written two other sweet romance novels, but it all started because of a childhood promise I intended to keep.

Passing for a Beta at Goldcrest College is so much harder than she expects. The big city is full of Alphas, and she’s starting to attract some attention that could ruin her shot at freedom. Meeting a rare male Omega and his Alphas, her perfume is triggered, and there’s no going back. She can run from herself, but she can’t hide from her true mates. Romy Lockhart writes paranormal reverse harem and M/F contemporary romance. All of her books contain steamy scenes between consenting adults. All of her reverse harems have harem ever afters, and all of her romance novels have happy endings.

Website * Facebook * FB Group * Twitter * Bookbub * Amazon * Goodreads

What inspired you to write this book? I’ve been writing reverse harem shifter romance for a while now, so I was already writing about Alphas, Betas and Omegas with paranormal storylines. When I first heard about Omegaverse books, which are basically Alpha/Beta/Omega books without the paranormal setting, I was immediately intrigued and devoured a whole bunch of those books as a reader before I started to get ideas for my first Omegaverse story as a writer. Secret Omega has the same steamy, sweet romance feel to it as the books in my Hybrid Shifters world, but it has two key differences: there’s no shifting into other forms, and the male omega also has romantic relationships with his Alphas. What can we expect from you in the future? My main focus right now is still my Hybrid Shifters world, with second standalone novels coming this year for the harems that were formed in Vicious Love and Shifting Hearts. I also have one more Omegaverse standalone novel planned for this year so far, featuring a character who’s introduced in Secret Omega. Where did you come up with the names in the story? The name of the main character came to me while I was working on the plot. Secret has an unusual name for a reason, but you’ll need to read the book if you want to know why! The guy’s names just popped into my head while I was coming up with their characters, they knew exactly what they wanted to be named. It’s not always that easy. Sometimes I’ll look up names that mean something, or names that start with a certain letter, to see if anything jumps out at me. I don’t start writing until I’ve settled on names for the main characters.

Now Available!!!

Good morning! 🙂 The One For Me is now available on Amazon!! It’s also available on Kindle Unlimited. I’m really excited for this story to be released, so I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Carmen Fernandez has always been the independent one of the Fernandez family. From opening up her first boutique at age 20 to being one of the most sought after business owner in two major cities, she has definitely made her mark as an entrepreneur. Although her professional life is soaring, her personal life needs a bit of work. While perfecting her various businesses, she never really thought about getting into a relationship. She figured her brothers Mark and Sebastian had that in the bag with them being married and having families of their own. She only wanted to be with someone when it was convenient for her. That’s why she decided to take notice to Albert Garcia, the manager at Suds Overton.

Albert is the typical go-getter. He started off as an employee with Mark at the Harrison store before heading to the Overton store as the assistant manager. Now, he’s the store leader and has been doing well for himself, until recent incident with customers and employees causing Mark to reevaluate Albert’s position with the company. With his busy schedule with the car washes, his restaurant, and his vow renewal with his wife Vanessa, Mark doesn’t have the time to tend to Albert’s issues, so he enlisted Carmen to help savage the store. He figured it’s a good idea, but for Carmen, it’s the worst. Mainly because she doesn’t want anything to do with Suds.

When she sold her shares of the business to Mark, she did it because she wanted to explore other avenues. She wanted to make a name for herself, and not through the family business; but since Albert was a good friend, she figured she would help him out the best way she could. Once she starts spending time with him, she starts to realize that Albert could be more than just a friend.

Or could he?

Another store that is making noise is Suds Dallas, which is ran by Kenny Battle. Kenny was a former employee with the company, so when he learned that Suds was looking for a manager for their new store, he jumped at the chance to apply. Little did he know, he didn’t realize the current owner was also his nemesis, Troy Jimenez . Once the two were able to put their differences to the side, he was able to bring the store to new heights, making it the best store opening in the city. He’s proud of his accomplishments that he has made so far, but he feels like there’s one thing that’s missing, which is the one person he let walk out of his life.

When him and Carmen dated years ago, the two didn’t want to be in a relationship, so they understood the boundaries the two set for each other. Little did he know, he didn’t realize that Carmen was the love of his life. He never really dated after being with Carmen, because no other woman compared to her. When he moved to Dallas, he didn’t think he would see her again, until she unexpectedly appeared at his store. He figured it wasn’t pure luck; it was purely faith. But does Carmen knows that?

When Carmen decided to check out Suds Dallas, she didn’t think she would be running into her ex, but when she saw him, she unexpectedly have thoughts that she didn’t think were there. She pushed them out of her mind, knowing that there could be nothing between the two. But when her cousin-in-law, Reece Jimenez, ask Carmen to help out on a project for the Dallas store, Carmen starts to spend more time at the car wash, and in Kenny’s presence. As the two goes down memory lane, they both discover that love could have been there all along.

Go with Carmen as she takes a personal journey as she realize that there’s more to life than just work and also comes to terms that she could fall in love if she’s ready.

Now that The One For Me is released, I do have an announcement to make for the next book that I will be releasing.

Endless Love will be the final book in The Love Chronicles series as it chronicles Andie and Dexter’s journey into parenthood. I’m so sad for this series to be ending, but I’m super excited for the next phase for these characters, as Endless Love will be the introduction to the Forever Love series, which I will be introducing in 2023.

This book will be a novella, and will be released on December 16th. I’m in the beginning stages of this story, so I’m very excited to revisit the characters from this series.

That’s all the news I have for now, but I will keep everyone informed with new info for Endless Love. 🙂

Hi everyone!! The One For Me, the fourth book in the Into You series, is coming tomorrow, and I am so excited! This book is a bit different from the previous three books in the series, as readers will take a journey with Carmen as she not only discovers herself, but also get reacquainted with a past love.

Want to read the first chapter from The One For Me? You can, because I have the first chapter below:

“I can’t believe this is happening!”

“Girl, you should be proud of yourself. Not only are you one of the top business owners in the city, but you’re also about to be interviewed for a major magazine. That’s huge!”

I smiled at my business partner slash best friend, Hanna, before taking a deep breath.

“Technically, we’re the top business owners in Dallas. And it’s a local magazine.”

“Stop being modest. You’re still being interviewed for one. And you recently invited me onboard to be a partner for one of your stores. You built this empire all on your own.”

My smile became wider at that compliment. Hanna was right; I did build an empire that I had worked so hard to achieve. When I opened my first clothing store, Victory Lane, seven years ago, I didn’t think it was going to be as successful as it turned out to be. Since then, I’d opened five more stores in the greater Houston and Dallas area, and even opened a children’s clothing store with Hanna called Victory Petite. I never thought about opening a store but, when Hanna became pregnant with her daughter, Delia, I knew that was a great business venture to get into. That, and because Delia was my niece, so I figured I could keep it in the family. I still couldn’t believe Hanna and my twin brother Sebastian were married, let alone parents, but I guess that saying was true that you couldn’t help you love.

I took another breath, realizing the accomplishment I’d made business wise but not in my personal life. With both Sebastian and my older brother Mark having kids, my dad had been asking me when I was going to have kids. He should know by now that my businesses came first. I was never the type to be tied down and popping out kids. Yes, career women could be mothers too, but that’s not in my plans right now. Just like I had envisioned where my life was heading when I was 15 working at Suds, I still had that mindset and that’s not going to change.

“I know that look. You’re in daydream mode.”

I glanced at Hanna with slight annoyance. “I wasn’t in daydream mode.”

“Yes, you were. You and your brother do the same thing when you’re thinking about something. I thought when you’re older that twin vibe goes away.”

“That will never go away, no matter how old we are.”

“I know you’re thinking about your life right now. That, despite everything that is going for you, you’re still missing something.”

I gave her another annoyed look before pulling a shirt from several boxes that was behind the counter. Hanna and I had been friends since childhood, so the two of us had been through our shares of ups and downs. When she and Sebastian announced that they were dating, I was a bit surprised, mainly because I never pictured the two together. I expected Hanna to be a football or basketball wife, not with someone who loved to mess with electronics for a living but, regardless, I was happy for the two because they’re clearly in love with each other.

Hanna pushed her dark brown hair from her mocha face and smiled. “You know I’m right, sis, that’s why you’re annoyed.”

“I’m not annoyed. I’m happy with my life, Han. Remember, I was the one who wanted to strive for her goals first, then marriage and kids later. Hell, I might not even go down that road. I’ll probably just be grateful for my businesses and have a litter of cats in the future.”

“Please don’t be that lady with a house full of cats. I don’t want to rename you the cat lady.”

I laughed. “Probably won’t be that, but we’ll see.”

“Anyway, I’m really happy for your success. Not only are you planning on opening another boutique soon, but you’re going to smash this interview.”

“Which probably not going to happen since Reece is not here,” I spoke.  When Smack Magazine announced their annual “Top 10 Business Owners in Dallas”, I was thrilled to learn that I was hand-picked to be a part of the feature. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if it was because I actually was or because my cousin-in-law was a part of the magazine staff who hand-picked the list. Regardless, I was grateful for the honor and to have family in such high places.

“Have you talked to Reece and Troy about the car wash? They’ve been doing big things down there. I actually went there to see what the hype was about.”

I continued taking shirts of out a box, not listening to this part of the conversation. When I heard that Mark and his wife, Vanessa, wanted to expand Suds to other markets, I was happy because it showed that Mark had a bigger vision than my dad wanted for the business. My dad never wanted to expand to other cities; but when Mark announced that it would be in Dallas, I was a bit hesitant, mainly because it was a constant reminder of what I was trying to escape. Suds would always be a part of me because I spent majority of my life there. I was grateful for learning the business from my dad because it taught me the ins and outs of owning one, that’s

why I was adamant on starting my own. But one of the issues I had with my father was the fact that I didn’t want to continue in his footsteps by owning a piece of Suds. I knew that would cause a strain in our relationship, but that’s not the life I wanted for myself. I wanted to embark on something that was mine and mine only.

Even though I opened up shops in Houston, I wanted to go in another city so, when I wanted to build my third Victory Lane, I figured why not in Dallas, especially since I didn’t have to deal with any type of Suds business. Little did I know that was going to be short lived when Mark opened up a car wash in the city and decided to have my cousin-in-law Troy buy out that location.

“It’s still hard to imagine that Troy is the owner,” Hanna pointed out.

“I still can’t believe you slept with Troy.”

This time, Hanna gave me an annoyed look. “Do you really have to bring that up? And please don’t even mention that to Sebastian.”

“I know it was before you were with Sebastian. It’s still hard to grasp, that’s all.”

“We were single then, so it was cool. That’s when I wasn’t looking for love.”

“Just don’t say anything about your tryst with Reece. Although Troy is a changed man, no woman wants to hear how much of a ho her husband was before her.”

“She should be happy since she changed him. From what I’ve heard, he’s a family man now. So that shows you that people’s lives can change in an instant.”

I smirked when the door opened, and Reece walked in. She looked beautiful as she wore a radiant smile. She had a certain glow on her caramel-colored skin when she approached me and Hanna.

“Hey, cuz,” I said while going to her for a hug. She exchanged pleasantries when she turned to Hanna.

“Hey, Hanna. It’s good to see you.”

“Likewise. I probably should go, so you two can do the interview.”

“You can stay. It would be good to have someone else here, especially since this is my first interview,” Reece said.

“Which I’m so honored that you’ve chosen me to do your first interview on.”

“When Liam knew that we were family, he jumped at the chance for me to do it. But please stay, Hanna.” She smiled before sitting down near the bench near the handbags.

“I hope I’m not interrupting with the store opening today?” Reece mentioned before sitting down. “If so, we can always reschedule for a different time.”

“You’re okay. I have to do inventory, so the store was closed anyway. Besides, you’re doing me a favor by doing this interview.”

“You are a force to be reckoned with. Not only are you one of the biggest business owners in the city but also the youngest since you opened your first Victory Lane at 20.”

“It was a long, hard road, but I made it.”

“You most certainly did. There is someone who wants to congratulate you on this great honor.”

I gave a confused look, as Reece reached for her phone. She handed to me, and I smiled. It was a video of Mark and Vanessa, who were grinning happily onto the screen.

“Congrats on being one of Dallas’ hottest business owners. We knew you would take Victory Lane to great lengths. We’re proud of you,” Mark commented.

“We’re so proud of you, sis. We’ll definitely be throwing you a party when you return to Houston.” Vanessa smiled.

The video ended, as I almost teared up. That was one thing I could say about my family, no matter how far apart we were, we’d still celebrate in each other’s successes. I was the same way when Mark opened his restaurant, Lucinda’s, which I was definitely crying over since it was named after our mother, and when Sebastian opened up his electronic store, Fernandez Electronics. The Fernandez family was very business savvy, but we did get that from our father. I just wished he was happy about the successes that we all achieved. I was sure he was with Mark and Sebastian but probably not so with me.

“When did they have time to do this?”

“Trust me, those two will make the time to congratulate you. They really are happy for you,” Reece mentioned. “But let’s get this interview started, shall we.”

I got my composure together, so the interview could start. As Reece was asking questions regarding my upbringings, my passion for fashion and how it all tied into me opening Victory Lane, and what the future held for me, all I could think about was the company and what else I could do to generate more revenue. When Reece asked about my personal life, I couldn’t even think about that. Sure, I did want to eventually settle down and have a family but, honestly, I had too much going on professionally to think about that. Right now, my business ventures were both my man and baby, so a personal life would have to take a back seat right now.

Once the interview was over, Reece put down her phone and pen and gave a huge breath. “Phew, I’m glad that’s over.”

“Girl, you did a great job.”

“Let’s hope I did. This is my first interview, so I’m trying not to mess it up.”

“It was great, Reece. With you holding down Smack and Suds, I don’t see how you have the time to do anything.”

Reece smiled. “I guess it’s because I enjoy what I do. You should understand that.”

“I also don’t have a husband and son to tend to.”

Reece nodded. “That’s true, but Troy understands, so he’s supportive. Although our lives are hectic, when we go home, we leave our jobs at the door and connect to our relationship. We balance each other out from the everyday issues that we call life.”

I laughed. “It’s still hard to imagine Troy balancing anyone’s life out. No offense, but I still see him as the playboy who graced Suds.”

Reece shrugged. “I know, but he really has changed. You should ask Mark about that.”

“I have.”

“Maybe if you’re not busy, you should come by the house and have dinner with us. We all could compare business stories and maybe give us some advice on how to keep Suds prospering.”

“I don’t think you need any help on that. Y’all doing just fine.”

“We are, but it’s still good to have some fresh ideas going to keep the store relevant. Especially with the other stores. I’m not sure if you heard about the Overton store. It’s not doing too well.” I slowly nodded,

wondering why Reece was telling me this. Mark didn’t say anything about it nor had the manager, Albert Garcia. Albert and I were good friends, so he would have told me.

Or would he?

After what Reece said, all I could muster was an, “Oh.”

“I guess Mark didn’t tell you?”

“He doesn’t really discuss Suds too much to me, especially since I sold the Overton store to him.”

“I guess Mark didn’t want to bother you with it, then.”

I nodded again, knowing that could be true, but there was probably more to it than just that.

Once Reece left, I turned to Hanna, who was busy scrolling on her phone. I sat down again, still puzzled to why Reece mentioned that.

“Why are you still worried about that?”

I looked up to see Hanna giving me a ‘stop worrying’ expression.

“Because Reece wouldn’t have said that if something was really wrong. Besides, how would she know before me?”

“Maybe because Reece is not only Vanessa’s cousin but Troy’s wife. I’m sure Troy and Mark talk.”

“They do, but something doesn’t seem right about it. Does Sebastian know?”

“He hasn’t said anything to me about it.”

I stared at the pastel green wall, still bothered by what Reece said. I knew I shouldn’t be concerned about Suds, but a part of me still did have love for the business. If they were in trouble, I just hoped Mark and Albert knew how to savage it.

More Books Coming Soon!!

Hi everyone!! I hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday!

Last week, I did announce that the fourth book in the Into You series will be available in September, but that’s not the only book I have been working on.

I mentioned a few months ago that I was going to do another book in The Love Chronicles series, titled Endless Love, but it was going to be a Kindle Vella. Now, I decided not to do the Kindle Vella, but I will be releasing a brand new novella from the series coming very soon! I believe there is more to tell with Andie and Dexter, especially since they will be welcoming their first child, so I had to do a book on the two.

I do not have a release date for this book, but it will be released some time this year. This story is also a prequel for the brand new Forever Love series, so it should be released either in October or November. Once I do have the official date, I will make sure to announce it here.

I do have the cover, which is below:

While you all are waiting for this title to be released, please make sure to pre-order your copy of The One For Me, which will be available on September 16th. You can pre-order by clicking on the link:

https://amzn.to/3NpnA4N

Remember to check back to find out the latest news on both titles as well as other releases that will be coming very soon.

Until next time everyone! 🙂

Coming Soon!!!

Hi everyone!! I hope you all are having an excellent day so far! I know it has been some time since I have posted, but of course, I have been busy with my full-time job to be online. Although I have been busy, I have been behind the scenes, working on a few projects, which I’m happy to announce one will be coming very soon!

A few months back, I mentioned that I was working on the next book for the Into You series. Now, I can finally say that the fourth book, The One For Me, will be released on September 16th! This is Carmen’s story, who was introduced in the first book. Take a journey with her as she juggles her career as well as her love life in the brand new installment.

Cover Art for The One For Me

Go with Carmen as she takes a personal journey and realizes that there’s more to life than just work and also comes to terms that she could fall in love if she’s ready.

You can pre-order The One For Me for $2.99 and have it available on your Kindle on release day.

https://amzn.to/3NpnA4N

I have other projects in the works, including a new story in The Love Chronicles series, as well as the spin-off series, Forever Love, which I will be announcing very soon, so please check back in the next few weeks for those postings.

I hope you all will join me on another journey with all of these characters, because I’m so excited to share their stories to you all.

Until next time everyone! 🙂

Life Lessons: Getting Ready for The New Year

Hi everyone! And Happy New Year’s Eve!

While going through some last minute arrangements before the new year, I had to reflect back on 2021 and the experiences that I have dealt with in the past year.

This year was not a great year for me. With me going through personal and professional issues, I was feeling as if my head was up against the wall because I felt stuck and didn’t know which direction to go. I have been through so much that I completely stopped writing and just lost all of my motivation. I wasn’t in the right mind frame, which led me to re-evaluate what’s going wrong in my life and focus on the positives. I realized that my job was taking too much of my time, especially if I was trying to grow a successful career as a writer. I wanted more for my life than what I was doing, and I wasn’t happy with it. That’s when I’d learned that there are a lot of things that I want to focus on in the new year, and that’s writing more and working less. I want to go back to when I first started writing and releasing books every three to four months. I want to grow as a writer, and published books that readers want to read and enjoy. That’s why I’m definitely changing my thought process and go back to what I love the most. And maybe I’ll find another job in the process. Who knows.

Now that I gave my New Year’s resolutions, I really hope you all share yours. If you would like, you can comment under the Comments sections.

12 Days Of Christmas- The Love Interviews: Reclaiming What Is Mine

Good morning! Today is day eleven of the 12 Days of Christmas! I can’t believe the event is almost over. But we still have a brand new interview today from the characters of the Reclaiming What Is Mine series. I also did another interview with Asia and Bryon during part one of the interview series, which you all can check out by clicking on the link below:

Now, let’s catch up with the two during their new interview.

______________________________________________________________________________________

SB: Hello everyone, and welcome back to The Love Interviews! Today, I have Asia and Bryon from the Reclaiming What Is Mine series. How are you both doing?

Asia: We’re doing well. And you, Sheena?

SB: I’m doing well. Thank you for asking. Now, since your last story, Reclaiming What Is Ours, the readers were able to take a lot in with you two getting married, the secrets being revealed with Dwight, as well as you both trying to have a baby. How was your relationship after all of those situations addressed? Have things been stronger between you two?

Asia: Things have been good between Bryon and I. Yes, we still have a few bumps in the road, but no relationship is perfect.

Bryon: I agree. We have been able to work through those issues and now we’re doing better than ever.

SB: That’s good to hear. Speaking of Dwight, how is he, if you mind me asking?

Bryon: He’s doing fine. He’s still working for force and is in a committed relationship now. Thank God.

SB: And your brother, Jason?

Bryon: He’s great. Him and Maxine is having the best days of their lives, so no complaints with him.

SB: How’s your writing going, Asia?

Asia: It’s going excellent. I have another author signed by my publishing company and I’m getting ready to publish another book as well. Everything is coming full circle with my career, so I’m really proud of that.

SB: That’s good to hear. I always love to hear success stories from authors, because I know how hard it can be to get into the industry.

Asia: I agree. It does take a lot of hard work.

SB: And how is your business going, Bryon?

Bryon: It’s going well. I’m doing something that I love, which is always an amazing feeling.

SB: Do you miss being in law enforcement, especially from the last case you were on? I know you said you would go back on certain cases, but do you miss it full time?

Bryon: Honestly, I like where my life is now. Besides, after the last cases I was on, I don’t want to put my life or Asia’s in danger, so if Jason only needs me from certain cases, I’m all for it.

SB: And you’re okay with that, Asia?

Asia: I told Bryon that I was, as long as it’s not full-time, then I understand.

Bryon: Do you?

Asia: I said I did.

Bryon: Especially since we are trying to start a family.

Asia: If you’re willing to make a sacrifice to me then I will with you.

SB: Will we be getting any more stories from you both in the future?

Asia: You definitely will. There’s still a lot to say about us, so readers will get a chance to read about our latest journey in the near future.

SB: I hope so, because you two have an amazing love story. I can’t wait for it to be told.

Bryon: We can’t wait either.

SB: Thank you both for taking the time out to do the interview. I appreciate it.

Asia: Thank you for having us, Sheena.

12 Days Of Christmas- His Holiday Wish

Hi everyone! Today’s event will be a bit different from the schedule as I’ll be doing another Book Day for His Holiday Wish. I was supposed to be doing another session of The Love Interviews, but that will be for tomorrow.

His Holiday Wish is my latest holiday book and is about a man who is trying to win back the love of his life before Christmas. It’s a sweet romantic story about knowing what true love is and never taking life for granted.

Here is the synopsis:

Dante Miller has always been a go-getter, and he has succeed in everything that his hands has touched, including his multimillion dollar sports company. After revamping his agency division, he needed some fresh faces to help bring in a newer clientele. During countless interviews, he wasn’t expecting for his college sweetheart, Ciara Britton, to come sashaying through the door. For Dante, Ciara was always unpredictable, but that was one of the things that he always loved about her.

As Dante appointed Ciara to the head of the division, he realized that she was the one who’d gotten away. He never wanted things to end with Ciara, but he cared more about starting his business, leading the two to move further apart. Now that he has a second chance with her, he’s not going to make the same mistake twice. He doesn’t want anything else for Christmas expect the love of his life back. Will his holiday wish come true?

Here’s the prologue from Dante’s POV. Enjoy!

“Dante! Dante!”

My face slightly turned to the love of my life, not knowing what to expect once I looked into those beautiful brown eyes of hers. One thing that I never wanted to do was hurt her. I’d done it before with my selfishness, so I was trying hard not to do it again. As soon as I stared at her, I could see the sadness etched across her face. But, it was more than sadness; she was disappointed in me, which I knew then that there was no turning back to what just happened.

“If you let me explain-”

“Explain what, Dante? What can you possibly tell me that I don’t already know?”

A long-winded breath went through me, as I tried to figure out how to fix the shit that I’d just caused. But, she’s right; no matter what my explanation could be, she wasn’t going to hear it.

And I didn’t blame her if she didn’t.

“I thought things would have been different between us, but I should have known that you would do this to me once again. I can’t compete with your career, Dante. I never could.”

“Baby, please, just let us talk about this,” I said.

I tried to go to her, but she moved away from me. I looked around the room, seeing the surprised looks on my guests’ faces, wishing we could have had this conversation privately, but the incident happened so quickly.

“I can’t keep doing this with you, Dante. I can’t keep having my heart broken.”

“Ciara…”

“It’s over, Dante. I’m done.” She turned around and headed to the exit.

I tried to follow her, but I was held back by one of my clients.

“Get out of my way.”

“She doesn’t want to talk to you.”

“Move the hell out of my way,” I demanded, shoving him towards the dessert table. I guess I pushed him too far because he collided with the pastries and landed on the three tiered chocolate soufflé. Damn, I was looking forward to trying that.

I ran towards the exit, nearly bumping into several guests as I tried to go to the door. By the time I reached outside, Ciara was already in her car and was leaving the parking lot, her tires screeching as she approached the street. I watched her leave, realizing that this was the second time I had let her slip away from me. And this time, she probably won’t come back to me.

And I only have myself to blame…

12 Days of Christmas- Love Unbroken

Hi everyone! As we’re getting closer to the end of the 12 Days of Christmas, there will be a lot more events happening in the next few days, so I hope you all continue on this wonderful journey with me.

Now, for today’s event (which is Book Day), we will be going back to the beginning with the first book of the Love, Life, & Happiness series, Love Unbroken. This book has such a special place in my heart, as it gives the importance of romance and being happy as it brings two brokenhearted individuals together in finding true love and happiness.

Here is an excerpt from the story as it’s actually the ending of the book where the main characters, Riana and Shawn, enjoy their first Christmas together. This is from Shawn’s POV. Enjoy!

“Can I talk to you outside, Ri?”

Riana looked at me, wondering what was going on. “Why’d you want to talk to me outside?”

“Why are you asking questions? Just come with me.” I said as I extended my hand to her. She took my hand and we ventured towards the backyard.

As soon as we went towards the door, I noticed our friends were watching, waiting for the big surprise to be revealed.

“Why are we going outside? It’s cold out here.” Riana whined as she put on her coat.

“I figured you would like the view.”

“What view? It’s looks horrible outside.”

“Trust me; you will love what’s outside.”

We continued to walk, when suddenly Riana stopped walking. She grabbed my arm, squealing at the sight in front of her. One of the things I know about Riana, besides her love for jambalaya, is that she loves gifts. What woman doesn’t! I wanted to have fun with the big gift I have for her, so I decided to be a little creative with what I’d planned for her.

The backyard was turned into a huge play land of sorts, as clear lights were twinkling throughout the open space. Big red and white candy canes with various themes were encircled around various areas of the backyard, indicating several spots for her “gifts.” I also put out giant red, green, and blue present boxes throughout the backyard for decoration.

“This is cute! It’s like a winter wonderland!”

“I didn’t think you would be that excited over it.”

“You know me, babe. I like to be different. How did you do all this?”

“I had some help.” “Now I see why my mom was trying hard for me not to come outside.”

“Well, don’t just stand there; go get your gifts.”

Riana smiled as she noticed the first spot marked “The Beginning” near an oak tree. She went to it, pick up a medium-sized present nearby and open up the box. She pulled out two teddy bears. The two had shirts that read “Alpha Man” and “Bella Quinn” on each bear. I noticed the look on her face, which made me laugh. “Creative,” she said as she went over to the next area, marked “The First Encounter,” as she ripped open the wrapping paper. She smiled at the frame, which was a copy of our news story we had done for Intro to Journalism.

“You framed it. How cute,”

“Continue,” I said, anxiously waiting for her to continue the journey.

She rolled her eyes as she went over to the area marked “Prom Night.” She looked at the box and opened it to reveal a framed picture of us from that night. Right next to the prom night area marked “Our Valued Talent,” which was set-up on top of one of the giant present boxes.

“I have an idea what this is,” she said. She opened up the package, and pulled out a piece of paper and a plastic microphone.

She looked at the paper, as she began to read the poem I’d written her.

When I hold my arms open

You’re the one I’d chosen

When I close my eyes to sleep

The thought of you makes me complete

When I’m feeling down I carry your picture around

The sweetest touch

Makes me miss you so much

When I have a lot on my mind

I think how you help me shine

When I’m stressed

You help me be my best

I can’t imagine being without you

My special friend

You’re the one I want to hold

And to keep away from the cold

What I’m speaking of Is love.

Riana’s eyes filled with tears as she put the poem into her jean pocket and went over to the next destination labeled “Chocolate Dreams,” A sexy smile played on her lips, as she immediately opened the small box. Inside held coupons for several intimate massages.

“I hope it’s more than just an average massage.”

“You know it,” I said with a wink.

She went over towards the covered patio, where she noticed something silver placed on a stand. She looked at it as she gave a huge smile at the silver heart bracelet she held up. She looked at the inscription, which were our initials, on the front.

“Turn it over,” I said.

She turned the charm over and read the inscription “My Heart” in tiny letters.

She looked over at me and smiled. “What you said at the end of your poem at open mic,”

“When I first said I love you,”

I could tell she wanted to tear up again, but hopefully she’ll wait until the end to do so.

“There’s one more gift on the patio.”

“There’s more,” she said as she saw the small box sitting behind one of the decorated Christmas boxes.

She picked it up and opened it, but noticed nothing was inside. “

There’s nothing here.”

“That’s because I wanted to give it to you myself.” I said.

I walked over to her and pulled out a black ring box that I kept in my apartment for weeks. I was really anxious to see how she would react to this gift, which I hope she would love.

“Riana, we have been through so much these past few months, and I know as time goes by, we will have more memories to share. I know I said it countless times before, but I appreciate you in my life. You’re special to me in ways that no one will ever know. I love you so much and I hope that we can share our lives together forever.”

Riana couldn’t believe her eyes when I opened the box to reveal a beautifully diamond cut ring on a white gold band. Riana’s eyes started to swell with tears as she looked at the ring in awe.

“Before you say anything, it’s not what you think. It’s not an engagement ring.”

“Then what is it?” Riana asked in tears.

“It’s a promise ring. I can definitely see an engagement in the near future, but right now, I want us to be committed to each other in every way possible.”

“But I thought we were?”

“We are, I just want it to be official.”

Riana smiled as I placed the ring on her ring finger.

“So Riana Robertson, do you commit to our relationship and to the love we have for each other?”

Riana nodded her head as the tears flowed relentlessly down her cheeks.

“Yes, Shawn. Yes, I do.” She said as she wrapped her arms around me in a tight embrace.

“I love you, Shawn.” Riana said softly.

“I love you too, baby.”

As we stood outside, I noticed something wet hit my shoulder. I thought it was starting to rain, but as I looked up, I saw white patches coming from the sky.

Riana looked up as well, completely floored to what she was seeing. “It’s snowing!”

As patches of snow started to drift from the sky, I pulled Riana closer to me, putting small kisses on the side of her neck. “I guess we really are going to have a white Christmas.” She said as she gave me a kiss.

Our friends came outside, looking at the snow in amazement. “Who knew we would get snow this year!” Cheryl said she looked at the sky.

“Now, it definitely feels like Christmas.” Britney said.

I looked at Riana, realizing I didn’t need snow or even gifts to be happy this Christmas.

Just having her in my arms, knowing she is mine forever is the greatest gift God could have ever given me. That is something I will cherish forever.

Love Unbroken is available now on all media outlets.

Check back tomorrow as we continue with the 12 Days of Christmas with a brand new interview from The Love Interviews with Asia and Bryon from the Reclaiming What Is Mine series.

Until next time, everyone! 🙂

12 Days Of Christmas: The Love Interviews- Into You Series

Hi everyone! And welcome back to the 12 Days of Christmas event! Today is the second day of The Love Interviews series, as we catch up with the characters of the Into You series. I did do an interview with Vanessa and Mark from the first book in the series, which you all can read again by clicking on the link below:

With the new interview, not only will we get a chance to find out what everyone has been up to after their books have been released, but also what the future holds for each couple, as well as a surprise announcement from one of the characters.

And now, a brand new interview with the characters of the Into You series.

______________________________________________________________________________________

SB: Hi everyone, and welcome back to The Love Interviews, in which today, I have the characters of the Into You series! First off, I have to say thank you all for joining me today, especially on your busy schedules. I know I’m taking you all away from Suds.

Vanessa: Thank you for having us, Sheena. We’re making sure to take the time to talk to you.

SB: Awe, I feel so special. Thank you all, again. Now, let’s dive into this interview. Vanessa, when Into You was released in 2016, did you or Mark ever imagine how popular this series would become, especially with spinning off into two other stories about the car wash?

Vanessa: Honestly, no. I didn’t think our story would be so popular with readers. It’s just about our daily lives working at a car wash.

SB: But a lot does go on at Suds, does it Troy?

Troy: (chuckling) You’re funny, Sheena. You had to come to me on that one, did you?

SB: Well, with your story Resisting Temptation, the Richmond store was sort of running itself before Reece came into the picture

Reece: She does have a point, Troy.

Troy: It was true that the store was known for its activities outside of the car wash, but thanks to Reece, I’m definitely a changed man.

Reece: You most certainly are, baby.

Jamarcus: Amen to that.

SB: Okay, I think I went a little off track now. But going back to the series, it was first introduced because I wanted to write a story about working at a car wash, especially since I am an office manager at one. But believe me, my job doesn’t have as much drama as yours.

Reece: And that’s something that we try not to incorporate as much, but who doesn’t like a little drama, right?

Tamara: That’s true.

SB: How are things going at the Richmond store, Jamarcus? Has anything changed since the last community event you all held during your story, The Right Kind of Love?

Jamarcus: Things are going well. Our sales are booming and with Tamara and I at the reins, we’re unstoppable.

SB: I’m so glad to hear that. How is your relationship? Are there any wedding plans in the future?

Tamara: We’re still taking things one day at a time, Sheena. But we love where things are.

Jamarcus: We most certainly do.

SB: I was definitely rooting for you two with your story. And of course, Reece and Troy. I have to admit Troy, you remind me of someone that I used to know. It ‘s sort of scary how your personalities are similar.

Troy: I wonder who that could be?

SB: That’s an area of my life that I don’t discuss as much. Moving on, how are things at the Dallas store going?

Reece: Things are going well. In fact, since Troy wants to go more commercial, he wants to bring in a consultant to help with the store’s image.

Troy: The company needs to be promoted more, so I think it’s a great idea. I’m just trying to get Mark on board for his stores.

Mark: The stores have been doing fine without having commercials being blasted on TV.

Troy: You sound cheap, Mark.

Mark: I’m all for you wanting to brand the business more. In fact, I’m proud of you for doing it. But did you have to bring my sister into it?

Sheena: Wait, I thought Carmen owned a clothing store? Besides, didn’t she get out of the car wash business?

Vanessa: That’s a long story about her clothing store. She decided to go into business consulting. And Troy decided to hire her to rebrand Suds Richmond and Dallas.

Troy: It’s not rebranding. It’s just getting our business out to more people.

Mark: I still don’t like the idea that you’re putting my sister in your business, especially since she have some things going on in her life.

Troy: You’re just concerned about her and….

Vanessa: Okay, do we really need to get into this right now?

Sheena: Is everything okay?

Mark: Everything’s fine. Just have some other things going on.

Jamarcus: Even I’m curious to know what’s going on.

Tamara: Now is not the time, J.

Reece: But there is something that we all would like to announce since we’re all together for this interview.

Sheena: And what is that announcement, Reece?

Reece: There will be another story in the Into You series, which will be Carmen’s story.

Vanessa: And of course it will feature all the couples from the series as we all navigate with the business and helping Carmen deal with some romance issues.

Tamara: Definitely a lot of romance issues.

Sheena: Oh wow, a new book. Who knew there was more stories to tell from you all.

Reece: There’s always a story to tell with this group.

Sheena: That is so true, Reece! But thank you all for joining me today and I’m sure the readers can’t wait to catch up with you all as well as read about Carmen in the new book.

Vanessa: Thank you for having us, Sheena.

______________________________________________________________________________________

That’s right, a new story from the Into You series will be coming soon in 2022! The story, titled The One For Me, will be Carmen’s story as she goes through several changes in her professional life while trying to figure out her love life when an old flame comes back into her life.

Here is the cover reveal for the The One For Me.

Make sure to come back to my blog to find out about the release date as well as the synopsis for the book.

Thank you all again for joining me today for The Love Interviews. Please make sure to come back tomorrow as we do another Book Day during the 12 Days of Christmas with Love Unbroken.

Until next time, everyone! 🙂

12 Days Of Christmas- The Love You Give

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!

Today is a very special day, as my holiday book, The Love You Give, is celebrating its 2-year book birthday! I loved writing this story, because the plot was a bit different from my other stories. I had such a fun time writing this story, especially since it centered around the holidays.

Here is the synopsis for the book:

All She Wanted Was A Diversion…

After walking away from the life she once knew, Kia Collins’ main mission is to live a happy and carefree life. She decides to do that by packing her things and moving to a city where she knows no one and no one knows her. But that all changed when a chance encounter with someone from her past occurred, leaving her wondering if she‘ll ever leave her old life behind. She wants to continue living her new life, that’s why she volunteers the one person who she believes could help do that and possibly more. What she doesn’t know was the plan she created would turn into something magical.

All He Wanted Was A Fling…

All Cane Brooks ever wanted was to have a good time with no strings attached. He doesn’t engage in relationships and never will since he believes they’ll end in disaster; so when he met Kia, he knew she would be the perfect person to pursue a new fling with. Little did he know Kia wasn’t up for any of Cane’s games. When she enlisted him to help her with a crazy situation in her life, he thought it would involve some of his expertise in the sexual nature; little did he know that Kia was going to teach him a thing or two, making him rethink about the choices he has made in his past.

As Kia and Cane come together to help one another, the two soon realize that there is more between them than just devising a plan. But will they be able to push past their issues to see the feelings they have for each other, or will it keep them further apart?

*The Love You Give is a Christmas novella filled with crazy dilemmas, a night of surprises, and a winter wonderland ending that will get you in the holiday and romantic spirit.*

There were a lot of standout scenes in this book, but here is one in which the main characters, Kia and Cane, meet for the first time. The excerpt is from Kia’s POV. Enjoy!

I walked out of the hotel and headed to the first place I saw, which was Hawthorne Diner. I walked in, instantly loving the smell of the burgers and fries that were being served. Although it was still breakfast, I was already craving the meal that many customers were getting.

I sat down at the counter and tried to get the waitress’ attention, but she walked right past me to go to another customer. That’s cool, because I didn’t know what I wanted anyway.

I looked around when I noticed someone coming up to the counter. He was absolutely gorgeous. From the short blonde hair, green eyes, and muscular physique, he was definitely different than what I was usually attracted to, but I couldn’t deny that he was sexy as hell.

“Is this seat taken?” he asked me.

As soon as he spoke, my pussy began to throb. I clutched my thighs together, wondering what the hell was wrong with me.

Get it together, Kia!

“No… no… it’s not taken.”

“Thanks,” he said and sat down.

He flashed a sexy smile, which had me a bit wet. Yeah, something was definitely wrong with me.

“Hey, Cane. What can I get you?” The waitress who I was trying to flag down earlier appeared. I glanced at her, wondering how she was acknowledging him but not me.

“Hey, Stella. I don’t think you got this lovely lady’s order yet, have you?” he asked.

He glanced at me again, which made me a bit shy. “Oh, I guess not. I must didn’t see you sitting there,” she said in a cold tone.

I rolled my eyes, knowing where this was heading. “You saw me perfectly well, Stella,” I said while looking at her name tag, even though the guy mentioned her name.

“Well, what do you want?” she asked in a hostile tone.

“Really, Stella. Do you have to be rude to your new customer?”

“How do you know I’m new?” I asked.

“Believe me, Tyler is sort of a small city and Hawthorne is the place to be. All the locals come here and I pretty much know everyone,” the guy said.

“He’s right,” Stella replied.

I didn’t even acknowledge her since she didn’t with me.

“Well, Stella, let me get the usual and whatever the pretty lady wants, it’s on me,” he said and flashed that smile again, making my pussy throb a second longer.

“Uh, you don’t have to buy my meal. I got it.”

“I assume you do, but I insist.”

Stella rolled her eyes before staring at me. “Well, he’s paying so what’s your order?” “

Aren’t you a ray of sunshine?” I said to Stella.

She groaned and I laughed. I would keep messing with her, but she’d probably spit in my food, so I stopped.

“I’ll have the burger and fries, please. But, I’m paying for it.”

The guy shook his head and already pulled out his money. Stella called out my order as well as his, which was the “Cane Special,” before walking off.

I looked at the guy named Cane with a curious expression. “Is she always like that?”

He laughed. “Ever since I was a kid. She’s not too keen on visitors, so excuse her behavior.”

“I guess,” I mumbled. “So, you got a meal named after you?”

“Not really. It’s just eggs, bacon, and pancakes. I just order it a lot, so they automatically know it’s for me.”

I nodded. “You probably need to go to another place to eat.”

“I love it here. But, anyway, Stella doesn’t represent everyone who lives here. For me, I love to encounter visitors. Where are you from?”

I shifted in my seat, wondering if I should even talk to him. It’s not like I’d see him again. “Houston.”

“Cool. You must be here for business.”

“How so?”

“Because like I said earlier, Tyler is not a big city.”

“Let’s just say I’m here for business and a bit of pleasure.”

He gave me the once over, which made me bite my lip. I was doing too much right now.

“I don’t think I introduced myself. Cane Brooks.” He said and extended his hand out to me.

“Kia Collins,” I said and accepted his handshake.

“I have to admit, you are a beautiful woman. Extremely beautiful. Since you’re new to the city, maybe I can show you around.”

“I prefer not,” I said.

“Why not? I’m sure you don’t know anyone here.”

“I rather keep it that way for now. But, thank you.”

Cane nodded. “Okay, cool.” He got up from his seat and stared at me once more. “I hope you enjoy your meal and maybe we’ll cross paths again.”

“I don’t think we will,” I said.

He leaned closer to me. I took in the intoxicating scent of his cologne. He put his hand behind my chair while lowering his lips to my ear. “Trust me, we will see each other again. I’m counting on it.”

Just hearing how sexy he sounded made me immediately have thoughts I shouldn’t be having. This was a complete stranger and I was literally wet from his damn voice.

You’re a mess, girl.

Don’t I know it.

“Nice to meet you, Kia,” Cane said. He gave me another delectable smile before going to the door, forgetting all about the food he just ordered.

I watched him leave, staring at the fine specimen walking out the door. I slowly turned around to see Stella sitting my meal in front of me. She shook her head, making my attitude change from lustful to annoyed.

“Here’s your burger and fries. I see Cane left without his food again.”

“I guess he does that a lot, huh?”

“He does, but let me give you a word of advice about him.”

“Do I want it?” I asked.

“I think you should take it. I don’t know how long you’re going to stay here, but don’t get involved with him while you’re here. He’s nothing but trouble.”

I smirked. “Trust me, I have my own issues to worry about. I don’t need the extra drama. But, I’m still paying for my order.”

Stella shook her head. “Cane paid for it, so let him. Just enjoy your burger and fries.”

I smiled. “Fine. Thanks.”

Stella nodded and went to the back to grab another order.

I stared at my food, completely taken aback by what Stella just said. But she didn’t have anything to worry about. I was trying to rediscover myself and adding another man to the mix wouldn’t help my dilemma. Right now, I just wanted to focus on getting myself back together.

The Love You Give is available only on Amazon, but two lucky readers will be able to win this Ebook along with a $5.00 Amazon gift card! All you have to do is go to the Contest & Giveway page (https://sheenabinkley.com/contests-giveaways/ ) to enter into the giveaway on Rafflecopter. The contest will end at midnight on Christmas Eve.

12 Days Of Christmas: The Love Interviews – The Love Chronicles

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday! For the sixth day of the 12 Days of Christmas event, we will be catching up with the characters of The Love Chronicles during part two of The Love Interviews.

Back in 2017, I did a series of character interviews which caught up with certain couples from my most popular books. One of those interviews was with the main characters of The Love Chronicles, Andie and Dexter, which you can read by clicking on the link below:

https://sheenabinkley.com/2017/02/23/the-love-interviews-andie-dexter/

Now, there has been a few years since the last interview as well as their last book, Love You For Life; but with the new interview, it will pick up from after Love You For Life was released.

Let’s catch up with them, along with the other characters from the series.

___________________________________________________________________________________

SB: Hello, everyone and thank you all so much for joining me for this interview. I know it was difficult to squeeze this in since everyone has such busy schedules.

Andie: It’s a pleasure to do another interview with you, Sheena. We’re so happy that you wanted to interview us again.

Dexter: I was actually shocked that you wanted to interview us. Our lives are pretty boring.

SB: I wouldn’t say that. You both are thriving in your careers and you’re having a baby. I wouldn’t consider that boring.

Andie: It’s definitely not. We’re both happy with our personal and professional lives.

SB: Can I ask if you know what you’re having?

Andie: You know we can’t say that, Sheena.

SB: I’m sure the readers what to know. It has been a while since the pregnancy news has been revealed.

Dexter: That’s true, but Andie and I do have an announcement to make.

SB: Curious minds want to know what that announcement could be.

Andie: Well, we were trying to keep this a secret, but Dexter and I will be doing another story to chronicle the pregnancy.

SB: Wow, that is amazing! I’m sure the readers will be happy to hear that.

Dexter: Yes, everyone will get a chance to know more about our lives and the pregnancy as it unfolds.

SB: And readers will get a chance to revisit your relationships with your parents as well.

Andie: Definitely! I’m sure everyone is wondering how our parents are getting along with the news.

SB: I’m sure, lol. That is amazing! Thank you both for sharing this wonderful news.

Andie: You’re very welcome, Sheena.

SB: We also have Mashawn and Andrew, Regina and Damien, as well as Sheree and Pedro. Thank you all for joining us.

Regina: Thank you for having us, Sheena.

Mashawn: This is pretty exciting. I didn’t think we all would be doing an interview.

SB: You all have made an amazing impact to the series. I feel as if you all grew up along with Andie and Dexter and developed your own stories to share.

Regina: I agree. There has been a lot of growth among everyone here, and it’s amazing to see that we all have become closer. Especially with Sheree.

Sheree: Thank you for only pointing me out, Regina.

Mashawn: I thought I was the one who was always shady.

Regina: I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I was just saying that we didn’t like each other, but now, we’re getting along. That’s progress.

SB: I agree. Life is about growing. Speaking of growing, how is married life going, Regina and Damien?

Damien: It’s wonderful, isn’t it, Regina?

Regina: Yep, it’s great. Couldn’t be happier.

SB: And your careers are going well?

Regina: Yeah, we’re doing great there. Damien even received a promotion at his job, which is amazing.

SB: Congratulations, Damien.

Damien: Thank you.

SB: Is everything okay, Regina?

Regina: Yes, it’s just a lot been going on with work, that’s all.

SB: I hope things get better for you. I know how hard it can be adjusting to a new job or an entirely new career.

Regina: Thanks.

SB: How about you two, Mashawn and Andrew? How are things going for you both?

Mashawn: Things are good. Couldn’t be better.

Andrew: Are they? Especially with your parents bothering us every five seconds.

Mashwn: Are you really going to talk about my parents during this interview?

Andrew: What other time are we going to talk about them?

Dexter: I really don’t think this is the time to talk about this.

Andrew: Fine, but we have to discuss it soon.

SB: Okay, I guess I shouldn’t have asked.

Andrew: I’m sorry for my outburst. I guess there have been some issues lately.

Mashawn: Too many.

SB: Why don’t I move along to Sheree and Pedro. You both are the new kids in the group, so how are you both adjusting?

Sheree: We’re doing well. I agree with Regina with us growing and being closer.

SB: How are things with you and your mom?

Sheree: That’s another story to be told on another day.

SB: And Pedro, I’m sure there’s not a dull moment at work with you and Dexter, aren’t they?

Pedro; Of course not. Dex and I are becoming great friends and just being around everyone is pretty awesome.

SB: That’s good to hear. And wait, aren’t we missing someone?

LaToya: Sorry, we’re late. It was traffic on 45.

Simon: LaToya couldn’t find anything to wear.

SB: Well, you’re here now. How are things going with you two?

LaToya: Things couldn’t be better, right baby?

Simon: They’re great. She’s happy, I’m happy, so life is good.

SB: I’m so glad for you both. Since Andie and Dexter already shared their news, and you all are here, why don’t you share yours?

Regina: Great. Well, each of us will have a story released under the new series, Forever Love.

Mashawn: It will tell our versions of our relationships as we go through our careers, families, and other aspects.

Andie: And besides our story which will be released soon, you all will be getting updates about Dex and I throughout the new series.

SB: There you have it, not only will there be a new story with Andie and Dexter, but there will be a brand new series centering around each couple from The Love Chronicles series. Congratulations to everyone and I know readers will be excited to read each couples’ stories.

Damien: Thank you so much, Sheena. We’re excited as well.

SB: I would like to thank everyone for taking the time out to be a part of this interview.

Regina: Thank you for having us.

Announcement!!!!

A new story with Andie and Dexter will be coming soon in late January! This will be a Kindle Vella book, with new chapters released each week. More details about the story, including the release date for the first chapter, will be given towards the end of this year.

The Forever Love series is a spin-off series from The Love Chronicles as each couple from the series will be getting their own stories.

12 Days Of Christmas: Favorite Christmas Songs

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful week. And yes, it is finally the weekend! 🙂

As we get ready for Christmas in one week (wow, can you believe Christmas is almost here?), one thing I love to do is listening to Christmas songs. While some people may listen to Christmas music as early as Thanksgiving, some people may wait until close to the holiday to get into the Christmas spirit.

For me, I love to listen to Christmas music in the beginning of December because it does help me get into the season. There are times when my spirits may be a bit down with the hustle and bustle of working, shopping, and other factors, but clicking on my favorite song on Spotify does help me feel 100% better.

Now, without further ado, let’s get into some Christmas music! I hope the songs listed are a favorite of yours or could be a potential new song to listen to. 🙂

Let It Snow- Boyz II Men & Brian McKnight

I love this song, mainly because it’s romantic and just being with your loved one on Christmas.

What Christmas Means To Me – Stevie Wonder

This is one of those songs that always gets me into the Christmas spirit. I would put this on and start baking Christmas cookies for some reason, lol. But I love it.

Sleigh Ride- TLC

Who doesn’t love TLC?

This Christmas- Donny Hathaway

There have been so many different versions of this song that has been remade, but this one is the original and by far the best rendition of this song.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town- The Jackson 5

At Christmas Time- Luther Vandross

This is one of my most absolute favorite Christmas song. This is one of those songs that I will put on repeat .

.Soul Holidays- Sounds Of Blackness

All I Want for Christmas Is You- Mariah Carey

The Christmas theme song!

Joy to the World (with Georgia Mass Choir) – Whitney Houston

Silent Night – The Temptations

This is my go-to Christmas song. If I’m not in the Christmas spirit, then this song makes me get into one. This song has a special meaning to me, that’s why it’s my all-time favorite.

There you have it. A list of my favorite Christmas songs. I really hope you all enjoyed the sample of each song. If you do have a favorite Christmas song, please feel free to share it in the comments section below.

I hope you all join me tomorrow as I kick off part 2 of The Love Interviews with a brand new interview with the characters of The Love Chronicles.

Until next time, everyone! 🙂

12 Days Of Christmas: The Love Interviews- Tamara & Lamar

Hi everyone! I really hope everyone is enjoying the 12 Days Of Christmas. I know I am, especially since I’m reliving some of my favorite book memories.

Since this is Thursday, I decided to do something special and do a little throwback to the Something Just Ain’t Right series, which some of you may remember was my first entry into urban fiction. It was a different element for me, which definitely took me out of my comfort zone as a romance author, but I really enjoyed telling each story in that genre.

With this interview segment, I was in the process of doing a spin-off with Tamara and Lamar titled If It Isn’t Love. While I didn’t get a chance to write their story yet, I’m not ruling it out, especially since I love writing for them, along with Hayley and Morgan, who are the main characters in SJAR. You never know, this could be one of the books that I’ll be writing in 2022.

In case anyone doesn’t remember Tamara and Lamar, here is their interview from part 1 of The Love Interviews. Enjoy! 🙂

__________________________________________________________________________________

Good morning, everyone! For today’s interview, I have Tamara & Lamar from the Something Just Ain’t Right series. The two will have their own spin-off story coming later this year.

SB: Thank you both for taking the time out for this interview.

Tamara: It’s our pleasure, Sheena

SB: First, let’s talk about Something Just Ain’t Right. That series was pretty intense, especially with the relationship you had with Hayley and Morgan, Lamar.

Lamar: It was very intense, but at the end of the day, we all became closer, so I guess we had to go through those experiences to realize the importance of family.

SB: Even when Morgan put you in the hospital?

Lamar: Now that I look back on that, I kind of deserved it.

SB: Well, you did record him and your sister having sex.

Lamar: Which I wasn’t trying to do.

SB: At least everything is resolved now.

Lamar: It certainly is.

SB: Let’s talk about your story. I’m sure you’re both excited to have your very own story. Can you share with everyone what to expect with the spin-off?

Lamar: I will be running the family’s computer tech company. My dad gave me ownership after he decided to retire.

SB: I’m sure that was an honor for you to take over the company.

Lamar: I knew it would happen, I just didn’t think it would be this soon. But after everything that has happened, I guess he just wanted to live his life; I can’t blame him for that.

SB: That’s true.

Lamar: Not only that, but Tamara and I will be exploring our relationship further. In SJAR, readers didn’t get a chance to understand our relationship; but now that the spin-off will focus on us, then readers will have a better understanding of how we met.

Tamara: Also what makes us stay together. I love Lamar, but sometimes he can be a bit over the top.

Lamar: Seriously, Tam.

Tamara: Just saying.

SB: I think we all seen that firsthand in SJAR. What about you, Tamara? What will readers see from you in the spin-off?

Tamara: I will be starting my own jewelry company.

SB: Wow, that’s cool.

Tamara: Thank you. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for some time now. But that’ll be discussed.

Lamar: Among other things.

SB: Like what?

Lamar: Tamara’s ex is back in the picture.

SB: Ex?

Tamara: From college. I dated him freshman year.

Lamar: Who my dad also hired for the company before he retired. And Tamara knew told me that they dated.

SB: Wow.

Tamara: Because I know how you get, Lamar.

Lamar: I would had found out eventually, Tamara.

SB: So your story will be sort of a love triangle?

Tamara: I don’t have feelings for him. It was a brief relationship, so it wasn’t serious.

SB: Let’s move on, shall we?

Tamara: Thank you.

SB: When will readers expect for this book to drop?

Tamara: Possibly in the summer.

SB: And will Morgan and Hayley make an appearance?

Lamar: Of course they will. They’ll be a focal point in the story just like we were in their series.

SB: Cool. I think the readers will be glad to hear that. But thank you both again. I think everyone is looking forward to this story.

Tamara: We can wait to share it with everyone.

Lamar: Thank you, Sheena.

12 Days Of Christmas: A LL&H Happiness

Hi everyone! We are now into the third day of the 12 Days of Christmas, which will be another Book Day, as we spotlight A Love, Life, & Happiness Christmas.

This is the seventh book in the Love, Life, & Happiness series as “The Crew” spend the holidays together. This story has so many elements, as it gave different stories on each couple from the series. As many of you know, this series is one of my favorites, mainly because it gives the true meaning of family.

Here is an excerpt from the book, as “The Crew” celebrated Christmas together. Enjoy! 🙂

(This excerpt is from Riana’s POV)

After an amazing night with the fam, it was finally Christmas day. I slowly opened my eyes and smiled at my two favorite guys. When we got in last night, the kids were still up since they were so hyped about Christmas. They begged us to open their gifts, but we all agreed that later in the morning would be better. Instead of Elis sleeping in his room with Preston, he opted to sleep with us.

“Is it Christmas, Mommy?” he asked, rubbing his eyes.

“Yes, it is, sweetie.”

“Yay!” he yelled and jumped up.

Shawn quickly sat up and began looking around.

“I think you startled your dad,” I said, laughing.

“It’s not funny. That scared the crap out of me.”

“That’s a bad word,” Elis scolded.

“That isn’t a bad word, and don’t do that again.”

“I’ll go get Preston,” Elis announced, trying to get out of the bed.

I gently pulled the back of his shirt, preventing him from moving. “You can’t just barge in his parents’ room,” I told him. “Let’s get cleaned up, and we’ll go in the main room.”

After doing just that, we walked into the room and saw that Preston was already unwrapping one of his gifts. I looked at Cheryl, who shrugged. “He couldn’t wait,” she explained.

“You still could have waited. Elis wanted to unwrap presents with him.”

He looked at one of the gifts like it was a foreign object as he stared at the wrapping.

“Just open it,” Marcus said.

Cheryl and I giggled as Elis ran to join Preston by the tree.

“Y’all started the party without us?” Jayden asked as he and Britney walked in with Carter and Isabella.

“Well, these two did,” I said, pointing to the boys.

“Cool! I got a Lego set!” Elis yelled, showing it off.

“We know. I almost had to fight a dude to get it,” Shawn whispered.

Everyone started coming out of their rooms, and my mom turned on some Christmas songs. As I watched my family open their gifts, Shawn came over to me with a black jewelry box.

“You know you didn’t have to get me anything.”

“I know, but I thought it was perfect for the occasion.”

I gasped and smiled when I opened the box and saw what was. I looked up at Shawn, and he smiled.

“I know you will always love your promise ring, but I think this really describes our relationship.”

I stared at the ring, noticing that it had two sets of diamonds on the platinum band. I looked at Shawn, confused, wondering what he meant by his statement. “What do you mean?”

“You see, the ring represents two points in our life. You’re my wife and also my best friend. That’s what the diamonds represent.”

A tear slowly rolled down my cheek, and Shawn wiped it away with his finger. “We started off friends, and now, we’re living the life that most people only dream of. I can’t wait to continue our journey together, because I know there’s more to come.”

I nodded. “Me too. I love you so much.”

“I love you, too.”

He took the ring out of the box and took my promise ring off of my ring hand. He replaced it with the new one, making me smile even wider.

To read more, please download A Love, Life, & Happiness Christmas, which is available on all online platforms. But, if you prefer the paperback version, I will be doing a giveaway of the book. To win, all you have to do is tell me in the Comments section your favorite Christmas memory. I will randomly choose the winner. You will have until Thursday, December 16th, to enter. Good luck to everyone, as I look forward to reading everyone’s favorite memory.

That’s it for day three. Check back tomorrow as we go into day four of the 12 Days of Christmas with a throwback to part 1 of The Love Interviews. This one will be with Tamara and Lamar from the Something Just Ain’t Right series.

Until next time, everyone! 🙂

12 Days Of Christmas: Into You & Only You

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of the 12 Days of Christmas event. Now, to the second day!

Today is Book Day, which I will be spotlighting one of my favorite books, but there is a twist. Not only will I be spotlighting the first book from the Into You series, but I will also be showcasing my latest release, Only You.

into You was released in 2018 as it gives a fictional story about a car wash in Houston. As many of you may know, I am a manager for a car wash, so the series is fiction, but I did provide some detail into how my daily routine is while I’m at work.

Here is an excerpt from the story, as the main characters, Vanessa and Mark, has their first kiss in the most unusual way.

(This excerpt is from Vanessa’s POV)

I looked around at my new room in Simone’s house and exhaled. After two and a half hours of moving everything out of my condo, my stuff was crammed in my room, Simone’s living room, and in her garage. Luckily, she didn’t have anything in her guest room, so I was able to place all of my bedroom furniture there.

I was about to lay down on my bed when there was a knock at the bedroom door. I looked over and saw Mark standing there.

“Is it okay if I come in?”

“Sure.”

He walked towards the bed, looking at me. I quickly got up and went over to him.

“I really have to thank you for everything. You even put my bed up; that was really sweet of you.”

“I didn’t want you sleeping on the floor. With everything that’s happened today, you need a good night’s rest.”

“Well, I appreciate it. I would like to take you out to dinner as a thank you.”

He shook his head. “You don’t have to. I was glad to do it.”

I suddenly became nervous as I looked at him. I noticed a little sweat on his forehead, so I slowly wiped it away with my fingers.

I smiled at his confused expression. “I didn’t want the sweat to fall in your face. You know, once it gets in your eyes–”

“It stings. Happens a lot to me while I’m working.”

I quickly walked over to the doorway to grab a box. I lost my balance as I bent to pick it up. Mark rushed over to help me. We stared at each other as he slowly let go of my waist.

“Sorry, I didn’t want you to fall.”

“It’s fine; thank you. Where is Simone? Did she leave for work?”

“Yeah, she did. I think you were in the bathroom. She said she’ll call you later.”

“Okay. Well, I guess I better unpack a couple more things before I get some rest.”

“Did you want me to help you?” he asked, moving closer to me. I could feel his presence as he tried to grab a small box beside me.

His shoulder brushed against mine, sending tingles throughout my body. “It’s okay. I can manage.”

“You sure? I don’t mind.”

He looked at me while his fingers slowly caressed my arm. My heart started pounding at his touch. But no matter how good it felt, I couldn’t let this continue. “I’m fine, Mark. Thank you, though.”

He nodded. “Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I smiled. “See you tomorrow.”

He went towards the hallway, and I followed him. He opened the front door and walked outside. Then, he turned around and gazed at me. “There’s something I have to do, though,” he told me.

He grabbed my waist and stared into my eyes before slowly pulling me to him. His lips touched mine. I was completely surprised but very turned on. His hands slowly caressed my lower back, as they were moving to my ass. My hands were in his hair as I pushed my tongue into his mouth. I whimpered when I felt his hard-on pressed against me. That’s when I knew we had to stop.

I slowly pulled away, and he ran a hand through his hair. I took a minute to control my breathing, and he did, too.

“Now my night is complete. See you, Vanessa.”

I watched him as he went to his truck. He looked back at me before getting inside.

I slowly closed the door, not knowing what the hell just happened. I touched my lips, still feeling his on them. My hands went to my breasts; my body was on fire. I completely forgot about unpacking as I headed to my room.

I needed to take a shower.

A long, steamy shower.

The second book is Only You, which is the latest spin-off from the Love, LIfe, & Happiness series. This is Drew’s story, which has a different spin from the other books from the series, but it still has the same elements as its focus on the importance of family.

Here is an excerpt from the story, when Drew sees Kayla for the first time.

(This excerpt is from Drew’s POV)

I went towards the door, needing a moment to myself. For some reason, I suddenly felt a bit overwhelmed. Just seeing everyone together tonight all coupled up and with their kids made me feel some type of way. I didn’t regret how things were in my life right now. I was just 27, so I did have a lot of life ahead of me, but sometimes, I wondered if I was missing out on something.

I walked over near my car to see a silhouette in the moonlight. I couldn’t move, as I felt the figure before me, leaving me intrigued. I stepped closer, wondering if the vision was real, but as I looked closer, I realized it wasn’t my imagination. She was definitely a sight to behold. She was gorgeous, with her curly coif framing the sides of her sexy brown face. Her eyes were striking, as I couldn’t tell if they were auburn or brown, but they still were beautiful in the moonlight. Her skin glistened as she swept some hair from her face. I didn’t say I was looking for anyone, but just looking at her made me rethink that notion.

Before I could speak, the woman gave me an alluding smile before disappearing. I tried to follow her, but one minute she was there, the next she was gone. It was as if she instantly disappeared. I stared ahead, wondering what just happened. I shook my head, trying to get myself together, but I couldn’t. The image I just witnessed wasn’t my imagination. It was real. I just hoped I’d be able to see that lovely vision again.

Both books are available on Amazon, but one lucky person will receive both books for free as I’m giving away Ebook copies of both books.

To win, all you have to do is write “Seasons Greetings” in the Comments section below and I will randomly choose a winner. The winner will have to contact me through my blog to receive their books.

The giveaway will end at the end of today, so make sure to enter. I will announce the winner on the next blog post.

As for the Into You series, please make sure to check out the characters’ interview during The Love Interviews which will be scheduled for December 20th. That interview will be very interesting.

But I hope you all enjoy the second day of the 12 Days of Christmas. Check back tomorrow as I will be doing another Book Day, spotlighting A Love, Life, & Hapiness Christmas.

Until next time, everyone! 🙂

12 Days Of Christmas: Favorite Holiday Traditions

Hello everyone and thank you all so much for joining me on this journey during the 12 Days of Christmas event! I’m so excited to do this, so I hope you all are as well.

For the first day, I will be doing favorite holiday traditions, as I give you all some of my absolute favorites. These pastimes have helped me get into the holiday spirit, so I hope that some of these will help you all as well.

1.Decorating the Christmas Tree

Decorating the Christmas tree has been a tradition of mines since I was a little girl. Right after Thanksgiving, my family would come together and break out all of our ornaments and make an evening of sharing memories. I still keep this tradition going with my husband and son as we put up our favorite ornaments.

2. Listening to Christmas Music

Nothing gets me into the holiday spirit more than listening to Christmas music. From the Jackson 5 to The Temptations, I love hearing classic Christmas melodies while waiting on that special day to arrive. It just makes me feel good to hear those songs as it makes me think about the memories that I have with my mom and other special people throughout the years.

3. Watching Christmas Movies

I don’t know about you, but I love a great Christmas movie. I get excited when Hallmark or Lifetime preview their holiday movies, because I’ll definitely be glued to the TV watching every one of them with some cocoa or wine (depending on the type of mood I’m in).

4. Baking Christmas Cookies

I started this tradition when my son turned six when we would bake Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve. I love to bake sugar cookies and use red and green sprinkles to make different designs. It’s not only relaxing, but it’s fun because you get to eat them once they’re done.

5. Viewing Holiday Lights

I love a good light show, so I would find different ones throughout the city. My family and I recently went to The Light Park in Spring, which was interesting since they were a drive-thru light show. We plan to go to more throughout the holiday season, including Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo.

6. Spending Time With Friends and Family

This one is the best tradition of all. With my busy schedule, and with the virus still around us, I don’t get as much time to spend with my friends or immediate family as I should, but I would love nothing more than to go back to the days where I get to spend time with everyone. This is a tradition that I hope that we all can come back to very quickly.

So, there you have it. These are some of my favorite holiday traditions. Now that I’d shared mines, please feel free to share some of your favorite traditions in the Comments section.

Please come back to my blog tomorrow as I go into the second day of this great event.

Until next time everyone, have a wonderful day! 🙂

Write 2 Be Magazine Interview

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Recently, I did an interview with Write 2 Be Magazine regarding my writing career as well as talk about my latest project, Only You. Here is a snippet of the interview:

What has been your most significant achievement as a writer thus far? Where do you see yourself within your career in the next five years?

My most significant achievement as a writer would have to be connecting with my readers. I love hearing from readers and seeing how happy they are to have read any of my books. It’s truly an honor for anyone to even read my books, but for someone to say they were able to connect with the story and the characters, or even say they could relate to what a character was going through make me feel proud, because that’s something that I want readers to take away from my stories. I always try to put a personal spin to all  of my books, so it’s wonderful to be able to connect to readers.

In the next five years, I would love to quit my day job and write full-time. I hope to have one of my books make the New York Times or USA Today best sellers list as well as develop a movie deal with one of my series.

How have you dealt with rejection within your writing career?

When I first started writing, I had a difficult time dealing with rejection. There were times when I cried after reading negative reviews or when publishing companies didn’t like my work. But now that I look back on those times, it made me develop thick skin for myself because I had to realize that not everyone is going to like my work. Instead, it just made me become stronger as a person and to work harder at my craft. So, I appreciate those times because it was a stepping stone for me to become a better writer.

New Release Date!!!

Hi everyone!! Hope you all are having a wonderful day!!

For the past two months, I have been working hard on writing Only You, but of course, with working a full time job, as well as other unexpected events occurred, I won’t be able to make the deadline that was set for Amazon to release the book.

With that being said, I decided to delay the release date to about three weeks and set a new date for September 3rd. I want to be able to take my time to write this story, especially since the last story I’d released was back in November of last year. But I promise you all, the story will be well worth the wait.

For anyone who has already pre-ordered Only You, you will still receive your copy on the new date.

If you haven’t pre-ordered, you still can by clicking on the link below:

It’s My Author Anniversary!!!

Good morning everyone!! I hope you all are having a wonderful week and are getting ready for a great weekend!

I can’t believe it has been eight years since my first book was published. I’m sure you all have probably heard the story before that In Love With My Best Friend was going to be the only book that I was going to release; but that one novella turned into multiple books that I’m so proud of. The road to becoming an author has not been easy for me, but I wouldn’t regret anything that I have experienced during this eight-year journey.

For everyone that has been supporting me from the beginning, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for reading my books, and actually liking them, and just being wonderful. Without you all, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Now that his residency is on the right path, he’s ready for a bit of romance in his life. With the help of his brother-in-law, Marcus, and cousin-in-law, Shawn, Drew is set out to find the perfect woman, but a series of disastrous blind dates make him want to forget dating all together. Kayla Watkins is also unlucky in love. After ending her engagement, she’s ready to see what the dating world is all about; but after a string of bad dates, she realized why she never dated in the first place. When she accidentally collides into Drew at the hospital where he works, she didn’t know the handsome resident is also the guy that her sister, Gina, is always calling a “smug bastard.” She wants to get to know Drew, but after their second meeting, she later learns why her sister calls him that.

The two continue to run into each other until a crazy encounter unexpectedly puts the two in an awkward situation. As they began to bond, Kayla and Drew soon realize that there is chemistry between them; but an unexpected visitor comes back into both Kayla and Drew’s life, causing their budding relationship to go into a tailspin. Hi everyone!! Hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday! A few months have passed since I’d announced that I’ll be writing a new book; but with so much happening at my day job and with other projects going on (I’m currently taking HR courses), I kind of put writing on hold. Here is the synposis:

Book Update!!

Hi everyone! I hope all is well. I know I have not been posting lately, for which I do apologize for. As many of you may know, I do have a full-time job, so my time has been consumed with handling a few things there, which has delayed my writing time. But not to worry, I have been planning to work on my new story, which is titled Only You. It’s the latest spin-off from the Love, Life, & Happiness series. It will be Drew’s story as he tries to find love, but of course, as any romance story goes, he will find love when he least expects it.

Since this is a LL&H spin-off, you will be getting an update with the crew, as they’re still adjusting to their new lives as successful adults. The story will be released sometime in June, but will be going on pre-order very soon.

Here’s the cover for the story:

To get you ready for Only You, catch up with the previous spin-offs, Real Love and Believe In Love, which both are available now on Amazon:

Real Love: https: //amzn.to//3rhs6rU

Believe In Love: https://amzn.to/3bfKEDo

Check back on my blog to find out the pre-order date as well as the synopsis for Only You.

Finally, I was recently interviewed by Voyage Houston Magazine in their Shoutout HTX feature. Click on the link below to find out how I started in writing, along with the people who have inspired me to write.

Blog Tour : Black, White, & Red All Over by Deann D. Matthews

Write Now Literary is pleased to be organizing a two-week book tour for Black, White and RED All Over by Deeann D. Mathews. The book tour will run February 1-12, 2021.

Genre: Christian Mystery/Suspense

ISBN-13: 978-1735575209

About the Author

Deeann D. Mathews is an author, musician, and fractal artist, from San Francisco, CA. She is the author of Black, White, and RED All Over, the first in a series of clean Christian mysteries, and also the author of Seasons Siblings’ Timeshare Tiff, a fictional take on the famous fall weather of her hometown. She is also the creative director of Praising Pilgrims Music, a small publishing company of music and music-related materials based in San Francisco, California. Ms. Mathews is also actively creating fractal art and other creative works across a variety of disciplines on Peakd.com.

About the Book

Ironwood Hamilton, new captain of police in Tinyville VA, is put at odds with his regional police colleagues when a new and confrontational Black newspaper hits them all with a demand for public release of records about police brutality in Lofton County. With the help of one loyal lieutenant and a relative with a famous name and suitably dangerous temperament, Captain Hamilton must gather the clues to a plan for rogue police action that will eventuate in blood and fire!

Excerpts

“It used to be ‘what’s that black and white and read all over?’ was a joke told about the newspaper, but every newspaper in the hands of racist reactionaries in the South has indeed been red all over – soaked with the blood of innocent Black people brutalized and slaughtered over lies in print that continue to this day.

“No more will we allow the wholesale placarding of racist tomes about ourselves and our children to pass for news. No more will we not have a voice to raise in challenge. No more shall we, the Black populations of Tinyville, Littleburg, Miniopolis, Smallwood, Shortport, Big Loft, and the rural countryside be passively painted as savages while the real savages sit comfortably in places of law, commerce, and politics. Be it known to all Virginia: those days are over! Hereby understand that the Lofton County Free Voice will roar back at the voices of racist reactionary news, beginning in Tinyville, then across Lofton County, then to the uttermost parts of Virginia!”

Captain Ironwood Hamilton and Lieutenant Patrick O’Reilly of Tinyville’s two-man police force stood at the nearest public bulletin board nearest the police station, reading what they had been reading, over and over again, on their regular dawn walk through the town.

The lieutenant was 25 years old, medium height and build, with bright red hair, ruddy skin, green eyes, and a shocking Southern drawl (unless you know the Scotch-Irish history of the southeastern United States).

The captain was 45 years old, six feet tall, sinewy, with iron-gray eyes and hair to match. His features looked like something that those Southern artists who loved to carve Confederates out of marble would have adored – classic, strong features, handsome, calm, and resolute. The slight pinch in those features from the sudden headache the captain was experiencing would of course have been glossed over.

“Wow,” said Lieutenant O’Reilly. “Have ever you read such bombast in all your life, Captain?”

Captain Ironwood Hamilton shook his head slowly, slowly because of the headache that was increasing every second.

“It’s only bombast if the Lofton County Free Voice can’t do what it says. I rather think it can, or at least can make a gallant effort.”

Lieutenant O’Reilly’s green eyes got wide.

“Captain, you’re not serious! A Black newspaper? In Lofton County? They won’t last a week!”
Captain Hamilton shook his head again and restrained his urge to rub his throbbing temples.

“It’s not 1819, and these are not amateurs we are dealing with. Just from this first issue, I know they have a good chunk of money in hand, dedicated people, and good strategic and tactical sense.

Blog Tour- Failure Is Not The Problem… It’s The Beginning of Your Success

Failure Is Not the Problem. It’s the Beginning of Your Success

Genre: Nonfiction/Leadership/Self-Help

About The Book

George Milton’s straight-from-the-heart, passion and high-energy, motivates audiences to step beyond their limitations and into their greatness in many ways. Over the past decade, George has used his role from keynote speaker to Master Trainer, creating the kind of workshop learning experience that got him committed to personal-and-professional development. His charisma, warmth and humor have transformed ordinary people into extraordinary achievers by using his own life, and his in-depth study of others’ challenges, to build an understanding of what works, what doesn’t work, and why.

What would you do if you had a revolutionary resource to help you become a successful leader, reach your goals, make your life better and propel you to become all that you are meant to be?

Sounds impossible? Well, it is not! In the “impossible” is the “possible.” And if you want the possibility of becoming successful, United States Army Retired Colonel, George Milton’s book, Failure Is Not The Problem, It’s The Beginning Of Your Success is a must read. Most leadership books major themes discuss how to achieve success only, but in life we all fail sometimes. And a lot of us fail miserably and oftentimes, more than we care to mention.

Throughout my life I have faced multiple failures over many years, yet I went on to achieve most of the goals I set for myself. It wasn’t always that way. In the beginning of my life failure hung over my head like an albatross around my neck. It wasn’t until I learned how to accept my failures and use those experiences to make myself better that I began to understand the value that my failure offered.

Too often we have been taught that failure has little or no value. We learn how to minimally tolerate our failure most times but not how to fully embrace our failures because of the negativity associated with that one powerful word.

I wrote my book, workbook and journal in order to help those who are struggling with failure learn a better way of becoming successful. The topic is failure, but the goal for my readers is to learn how to become successful by utilizing their failures as their strength and not experience failure as a weakness as most have been taught.

If you want to succeed you must walk through the doorway of this life changing resource, failure. In my book I address the challenges of adversity and how failure can motivate you, focus you, and change your life for the better.

In my book I share my story of growth from a difficult youth to a distinguished career Army combat officer. I share that it was only possible because I changed and adjusted my attitude to understand that my failures were actually my greatest resource. Not only do I reveal personal triumphs and defeats,

I demonstrate how in 12 easy to follow steps, you can transform your mindset from negative to positive regarding failure and in the process become successful.

Failure is a very difficult topic for most people to talk about and share. Therefore, not only did I write a book, but I also wrote a workbook and a journal to accompany my book so as to ease the challenge of approaching this sometimes-complex topic.

When I speak to people about their failures, I will sometimes present to the audience this one question, “when you fail, in one word, describe how that failure makes you feel.” Overwhelmingly there are two words that are at the forefront: disappointed and depressed.

The time has come for us to turn the page and reengage that one word, failure, and understand that once we learn how to accept our failures as a natural part of our lives, we will be able to not only achieve our life’s goals, but will be better equipped to live a more productive and happier life.

It is my hope that anyone who reads my book or finds the courage to go through the workbook and journal will understand that if they genuinely want to become successful and obtain their long sought-after goals and ambitions, they will learn how to embrace their failures as well as learn the important lessons and nuggets that failure has instore for them.

Here is a formula I came up with to remind myself of how to respond to my failures.

F+RR=S

Failure + Right Response = Success

In other words, when I fail, if I respond to my failure with the right response, to learn, to get better, to change my direction in life, to change my goals, then my chances of obtaining my objectives and successes will increase. Versus, blaming or making excuses and worst case, quitting.

Join me on this quest to change the world and impact the lives of people everywhere by helping them change their mindset to accept, understand, and learn that failure, when responded to properly is their greatest resource to help them become all that they are meant to be.

Excerpt

Barring any physical ailments and assuming one has a solid mental stability, my

experiences have shown me that when it comes to failure, it’s mainly about

mindset. In order to prepare your mindset to think of failure as a positive

experience instead of a negative one, you must be self-disciplined. Once you

change your mindset and your attitude, it becomes easier. Not easy, but easier.

Most people want easy. Easy is not the goal; training the mind and becoming

more disciplined is. My experience has been that those things, which I’ve had to

work the hardest for, are the events I’ve appreciated and have learned the most

from.

Trapper’s Christmas

by Dahlia Rose

Genre: Christmas Holiday Romance

Lucas Trapper didn’t think about the holidays, gift-giving, trees, or people in general. He liked the silence of Alaska, the snow so deep you could get lost in it, and the pristine wilderness that went on for miles. Lucas left the lower forty-eight states to escape the city, the noise, and the people. Thinking it would be another quiet day was proven wrong when he saw a plane fall from the sky and knew it was up to him to go look for survivors. He didn’t expect to find anyone alive, but there she was, a headful of thick hair, dressed in a business suit and definitely not meant for the frigid cold of winter. Taking her back to his cabin was the only option.

When she woke up, he found out her name was Jasmine Bashir, and she wasn’t pleased to hear she was stuck till well after Christmas… how close was Christmas anyway? Lucas didn’t even track holidays anymore. Jasmine did, and from the paper decorations she made to the paltry Christmas tree, she cut down from the forest and dragged back to the cabin. Lucas could tell she meant to make his life miserable with the bleeping holiday nonsense. But from the first kiss, they found solace in each other, two people the world didn’t understand, but somehow they fit. Jasmine made him laugh more often than not, but reality would filter in soon, and she would go home. Could Lucas go back to being just Trapper and his life of solitude, or would falling in love with Jasmine change it all?
